Southwest Early Bird question

We are returning from our Disney trip 5/1/10 at 8:55 pm on Southwest. I purchased the "Early Bird" option for all of us on the way to MCO mainly to ensure my daughter got a good window seat and we all 3 are seated together on the way to MCO. But I did not get the "Early Bird" option on the return trip mainly because it will be dark out and the window seat will not matter. Was this a good idea in my part? This is our first flight anywhere and this flight is apparently the last flight out of MCO for that day... My only concern is the availability for us 3 to be seated together. Do the late flights generally fill up??

Most flights from MCO are probably pretty full. Later in the day should be more full since many people dont want to leave early to get in that last bit of fun, and to rest a bit without having to get up at 5 am to leave :). If you check in right at t-24 you will probably be ok, but wont promise that. The problem is that checking in RIGHT at t-24 at WDW can be a bother. If you have a cell phone that you can check in with that could work, but is probably harder to do right at t-24, if you have family that you know will do it, would be ok to try that also, or spend the 30 bucks and dont worry about it (my choice for return flight from MCO)

Thank you:)... I just purchased the early bird option for our return flight to lesson any problems.
