it doesn't effect me this trip but I am helping a friend with looking for southwest sales for our upcoming trip and I have had NO dings pop up in a while...I only have a few cities listed on my ding registration but nothing has popped up---I am mainly wondering about dates---flights going down are cheaper then they have been in a while so he was going to grab them especially if dings have already moved into October dates but if they were still dining some september dates he was going to wait a little longer. Has anyone had a ding pop up the past couple of days and if so were the dates for the dings still in September or have they started dinging October....thanks!

I havent seen any in while and none to Orlando for a very long time.

I havn't had a ding in about 4 days. last one I had was still sept. I'd say oct. is coming soon .

I signed up over two or three years ago and in all that time only once have I seen a PHL to MCO Ding.

I am signed up for Nashville and Orlando and haven't had a Ding pop up in probabaly 2 to 3 weeks... I dunno what is going on... Ding used to be awesome, and I have gotten some really impressive fares with it, but I think with the changing times and the state of the economy, Ding fares will soon be a thing of the past.

I got a DING this morning. More like a PING...It is for $97 each way to Orlando from RDU. I have to wonder why I got that? Last year we flew because we got in on the $49 each way deal. Makes that $97 DING not so great! We are taking the train this year. We gain a whole day taking the train, and it is 1/4 the cost!

I guess SWA is using the extra revenue to pay for AirTran.. :confused3

We are sitting at almost $500 a ticket from STL to MCO...

My loyalty to SWA is wavering...:rolleyes1

No dings here either . . .in fact the flights from BDL to MCO have been more $$ through SWA than Delta or Jet Blue . . .We are booked with Delta for October and Delta & Jet Blue for November . . .Southwest was just too high for our dates . . .what ever happened to the $49 Dings? I haven't seen one of those in about 3 years . . .:guilty:

Wow. And I thought $400. from TUL to MCO was bad. :scared1: SW makes such a big deal over them not charging for luggage; trust me, they are charging for it - just not blatantly. :cutie:

Now that I finally have a little more disposable income . . . I still can't afford to vacation like I want. :headache:

I've been holding my breath for a Sept ding for the last month. I still haven't seen it. Last week I decided to check the other airlines and I found round trip on Delta for $115 per person. I was irritated about no dings also ~ but glad I checked else where :)

I am wondering if Ding Fares will be a thing of the past soon. SW flights from the Boston area are sky high and I have noticed they have cut back on the # of flights as well. They seem to be offering more stop overs. Has anyone else noted that there are also hardly any commercials on TV about Ding any more? Airtran is just as expensive :(. I miss the days of the awesome Ding fares that you actually got excited about!

Well that's weird. I have Orlando set up as one of my airports and I haven't received any DINGs in several weeks. I just checked and it still says there are no DINGs available. But you got one this morning? Weird.

Would you mind to update the "History of DING Fares" thread? Thanks!

Glad I am not the only one that missed out on that AMAZING Delta sale...would have been $497 for 4 rt tickets from stl to mco. Still so upset that I didn't get to book that, won't see a fare like that again. PM me or post a message if you find a good deal from STL, and I'll do the same! Good Luck! :)

I just got a ding, Orlando to Ft. Myers, $69. Seriously, how many people fly that route? It's under 200 miles.

Yes, I'm kicking myself for not purchasing the Delta last week. We weren't sure we were going yet and I thought I'd wait and get dates set in stone. Ours would have been 497 from KY. Now, it looks like we will have to drive. YUCK! I'm still hoping for a ding or another surprise from Delta!
