I have a trip planned 12/3-12/6 - still need to book flights - if I book flights on Southwest now and then a DING or lower fare comes up - will I get the lower price or am I just out of luck? I want to make sure I get the flights I want - but I would really like to get cheaper flights - :confused3
Thanks for your help

If you book now, and a lower fare comes out either via Southwest's email updates or DING!, you can get the lower fare. Just make sure you have one window open to cancel original flight and another with new flight (fare) info ready to purchase. You can then use your canceled flight funds to purchase the new flight...or same flight at cheaper price.

Thanks to advice on this board, I also discovered it's better to book the tickets as one-ways vs. roundtrip because sometimes a better fare comes out for one leg of the trip, but not the other (this is especially true with DING fares).

still haven't booked our flights yet, but probably will soon.
