Does anyone know when Southwest will open their schedule up for mid-December to late December? I don't know if I should continue to check each day? Or will I have to wait another 3 months before they open up the schedule further??

Thanks to anyone who may know the answer!! :)

Anyone know? I can't be the only waiting for mid-December...............

Since they only opened up Dec11 yesterday I would say you are in for quite a bit of a wait. Sorry....

Last year I bought my tickets for Feb. in Sept. - that's probably when the schedule opened up.

We are waiting for the 15-23. Last year someone posted these dates were out the end of July. I don't remember the date.

I spoke to an agent this morning at SWA about this. She told me that even the agents were surpirsed that the dates only went out another month. She didn't know for sure, but was pretty sure we would see the rest of Dec and beginning of '05 somewhere around the end of this month.

Last year the fares for the end of December to early January at least opened up on the last Wed. in July as we flew home that day from Florida because my father wasn't expected to live. My aunt, who had also been vacationing in Florida, was on the same flight. She told me later that when she got home her friend who lives in Florida had called and told her the dates on SWA were open through early January. Who knows if the same thing will happen this year or not!

In the past, have they offered great prices for the dates around Christmas?

I'm looking to fly out of NY on December 21 ( a Tuesday) and return on the 27(a Monday).

I've never used Southwest. As a matter of fact, I've always said I'd never use them. But all the other airlines will cost about $600 for my son and I. :scared1: :scared1:

Thanks to all who have responded. I'll check Southwest's home page the last week of July. If nothing, I'll guess I'll just wait until beginning of September & start my daily checking & rechecking then - such a nuisance......

A word to the wise....have a back up plan or be very flexible.

We are going to WDW Nov. 5-9 and had planned to use Southwest. We checked the Oct. schedules and had figured out what flights we wanted.

When they released the flights for November this week, "our" flights were not listed anymore! We were counting on a 7:15 am flight to Orlando which had been changed to an 8:00 am flight which was do-able, it just got us into Orlando later than we wanted. However, the 7PM flight home that we were counting on was gone! The latest flight now for us was 2:50 pm meaning we would miss our last day in WDW if we went with Southwest!!

I ended up booking us on USAir for $30 more a person (there are 5 of us), but it was worth it to us to keep that last day of touring!

Anyway, I hadn't even looked into other flights and had just missed a great rate that Delta was offering cause I was waiting for Southwest.
