southwest credits last how long?

I'm sure this has been asked- how long do the credits last if our flight goes down?

I believe its 1yr from the date of purchase if you are using it from a canceled trip.

LWatson is correct. I just want to emphasize that it is 1 year from the date of purchase not one year from the travel date.

I just got off the phone with Southwest. You have to complete travel within 1 year.

To change your reservation, click Travel Tools, Change Air Reservation.

You need your confirmation number & name.

You can apply for a 6 month extention but it is 50.00 per confirmation number. they have recently started to enforce this fee. they never did before.

On advise from this board, I made one booking, refundable fare, and paid only $50.00 to extend. I would have ended up losing my entire credit if I had not done this...........thanks Disboard.
