We purchased tickets on SW for late Sep from a great Ding fare. There is a chance we may not be able to go because someone in the family is terminally ill. Will SW give us a credit for future travel? TIA
You should be able to cancel your reservation online and it will bank your credit for almost a year. Just remember to save the confirmation number. You'll need it to access the funds later.
This is why we LOVE Southwest so much. We were able to cancel and rebook our flights last year 4 times because they kept lowering the prices. Ended up with enough credit for another trip!!
Yes, as Wigit12 stated, you can get a full credit from SWA. Just be sure to note that the credit is good for one full year from original purchase date (not scheduled flight date, or date of flight cancellation). So, if you bought your tickets for your Sept trip on May 15, 2006...your credit will be good until May 15, 2007.
