Anybody know anything about these and if so how to get one? We have a pre boarder who will be very nervous waiting at the gate alone. She is too old to be a minor, but it would be great if someone could be with her.

I believe you can ask at the ticketing counter and ask for a gate pass, I think they still do this, I would call today and find out............

You can go to the counter, wait in line and ask for a gate pass. You want to accompany an adult? There is no guarantee they'll give you a pass.

Easier to just purchase a full refundable ticket, leaving from the same bank of gates. Can be a flight a few hours after the flight your child is flying. SW will refund your money if you're a "no show" but it's polite to cancel your reservation.

I'm assuming that as the person will be pre-boarding that she is disabled in some way? Generally it is much easier to get a gate pass to accompany a disabled person than for someone who is in perfect health; just have HER ask at the ticket counter for a pass so that she can have assistance to the gate.
