Southwest airlines will now be operating out of Newark Airport!! I can't wait to try them out after all the good things I've heard about them! :cool1: :cool1:

Huzzah!!!:cheer2:

Now maybe we can actually fly to Orlando (I hope that will be one of their cities) our of Newark instead of always needing to head to LGA or West Chester for an affordable flight!

Now we just need to sit back and watch to see what cities SW will fly TO popcorn:: C'mon, Orlando, be there...!

I'm going to need to look into Southwest. I'm so spoiled by Jet Blue, it'd be hard to switch over, but those low rates everybody talks about are tempting!

Us too Nikki! We love JetBlue but I really want to try Southwest after everything I've head about them and their prices are great!

This is the article that was in The Star Ledger this morning:

It says POSSIBLY Orlando!! :cool1: Hopefully just in time for our trip next October!

I had no idea that they were already flying out from LGA. However, I did notice that LGA to MCO requires a plane change.

Let's see what EWR brings. Until then, Jet Blue or Continental for me.

I guess I'll have to start paying attention to the Southwest threads now.

Thanks you just made my day! I LUV Southwest but hate to drive to Philly.

Yes, I read about CO/UA selling Southwest some of their positions at the terminal. We are CO flyers, CO prices have been good lately, but will always look at SW for a better fare.

I hope they eventually go direct between Minneapolis and Newark! We fly that route as a family very often.
We are Delta folks here, but prices have been getting out of hand everywhere we try to go (except St Louis and Chicago, because Southwest flies there direct which has basically forced Delta to lower their prices).
