Southwest check in

Hi,
My husband and I are flying southwest for our trip. Does anyone have any ideas on how to check in 24 hours prior to our flight since internet is not provided in the rooms? Will the front desk help out? Or is there a place in the hotel we can use the internet just to check in? We are staying at POFQ if that helps.

Anyone at home with your reservation number and computer access at the right time.

Note that you will need to be present at the Disney location; they will not take advance orders :)
 
Someone else you trust can check in for you from home or anywhere else (obviously you still won't have your boarding pass, keep reading.)

They need your info and your reservation code of course.

This way you will get your A boarding pass..

When you get to the airport, go to the self serve kiosk and you can "reprint" your boarding passes. Works like a charm every time!

They don't give letters anymore. The old version of "A" is set for those who paid additional for the privelage. I think they start issuing at 30 for those of us who bought the cheap ticket but the sooner you get checked the closer you are. If you have a cell phone with internet access you can login and do it and like DVCSean said reprint when you get to the airport. I believe it is southwest.mobile.com.
 

Thanks for the help! I called my parents earlier to ask if they could help us out and wouldn't you know it they are out of town also! We may ask my MIL but she is... forgetful is a nice word for it :laughing: We were hoping to get new phones with internet access before the trip but the palm pre (the phone we have been waiting for) comes out 2 days after we leave :rolleyes: Good to know there are so many places we can check in at.

Eh, not exactly accurate.

Southwest does still use the letters; in addition to that, each letter is broken down by number - about 1-60 on originating flights.
Yes, the first fifteen or twenty A boarding passes are reserved for business/frequent travelers. Even then, if there are fewer than this number of these passengers scheduled for a flight, "regular" boarding passes will start lower than A20.
Anyway, Southwest does not just call for boarding by letter any longer - now the A passengers line up according to letter+number and the first five board, then the next five, then the next group...
 
I just did it at the POR concierge desk a few weeks ago. It was a 7:30 am flight and I checked in about 9:30 the day before and I still got A's. I didn't want to make any family members get up early on a Saturday morning to do it and we don't have web enabled phones. It was really easy and they do it all the time!
 
I have gone to guest relations at the MK (near train station there) with my ID and the confirmation number. Only issue: the 2nd time I forgot and had to do it before we went to bed at the resort--- easy both times. This time I am going to set the alarm on my cel phone to remind me--- I don;'t want to think about leaving for home so I intentionally blocked it out!!

I got my daughter to check us in at the 24 hr mark. She then called us to tell us we were in the A group. Worked great.
 
My DH checked my mom and myself in from home and got A boarding passes. I took the confirmation number up to the concierge desk at Pop Century and they printed off my boarding passes for us. Easy Breezy!

Related question....last time we flew Southwest, we were travelling with our then 10 month old DS and therefore got priority boarding. He will be 4 at the time our next trip. I was told that up until age 5 we still get priority seating (not sure if those are the right words, what I mean is we got board before everyone else.). Anyone know if this is true? Thanks

Southwest has changed their family boarding a bit. Family boarding is now done between boarding groups A and B. If you're in boarding group A then you'll board in your assigned boarding position. If you're in boarding group B or C then you'll line up to board after boarding group A is loaded. You shouldn't have a problem getting 3 seats together when boarding with the family boarding, though you will likely be a good 2/3 of the way towards the back of the plane.

Yes. A1-60 will board first, so at most you will have 60 people ahead of you. However, usually the first 15 or so seats are their business select category (or whatever they call it) and usually only 1 or 2 people in that line. Boarding after the A's still pretty much guarantees you seats together, just not in the front of the plane most likely.

If I check in on my phone, can I have the boarding passes printed out later?
Like if I check in while at the park, then go back to SSR and have them printed out?
It is 24 hours before the flight right? So for a 5:00pm flight you check in at 5:00pm the day before??? Just making sure...:)

That's what we did. DH checked us in on his cell phone, then later that night, I went to the Concierge Desk at our resort. They printed our boarding passes. You'll need your confirmation number from the airline.

Check in 24-hours in advance, and get your printed boarding passes later.

You can also ask Guest Services at the parks to print your boarding passes, if you wish.

Once you check in, your letter/# combo is locked in and you can reprint many times. If you don't want to be bothered with the hotel, there is a kiosk in the airport that's really easy to use. Also if you do curbside check in they'll print it for you too.

We love to check in by cell phone. Sometimes the guest relations lines can be long and move slowly. I once checked in while watching the Muppet 3D preshow so we didn't miss any of our vacation. No hassle at all! :lovestruc
