Southwest Change

Can anyone help me out with making changes to my southwest flight. I book online and booked in July for flight in Feb. My flight from Buffalo to Orlando has dropped in price and I would like to take advantage of the savings. How do I change my flight online? The savings are only given in the form of a southwest credit if I remember correctly, how long is that credit good for? Thanks for your help.

Go to the transportation board! They can tell you how to do it.
Basically you put in your reservation and re-book it - go through the steps for rebooking and just choose the same flights and it gives you a credit.

Hi ... sorry I can't give you a step by step, as I'm headed back into a meeting. Basically, you need 2 windows open ... one with your existing flights that you will use to CANCEL your current ressies -- DO NOT DO THIS YET ... and another one with the new flights at new price. Book them, and when you get to the payment page to use credits, go and CANCEL your other ressie, get the confirmation number, plunk that in on your new ressie, and it will use the money from the old cancelled one to pay for these new flights.

It's a very stressful thing to do because I always fear of losing my new flights before I can confirm them. My DSIS got really good at it recently when her flights to LA kept going down and down.

Good luck! Credits must be used within a year of when you first booked ... so July for you.

Go to travel tools.. click on change air reservation or something like that.. put in your confirmation number and then tick that you want to change your flight put in your same flight info then click confirm and preso you have a credit to use within one year!

just call SWA and they will walk you through it. Credit is valid for one year from booking date, so if you booked in July, your credit will expire next July.
