Southwest B22 - How bad???

I just checked in online and I was late... We got B22. How bad is that? We are a Mom & Dad with a 2 & 4 year old. I have heard they are not pre-boarding young kids anymore. I can't image that they would separate the kids from us (I was going to sit with the 2yr old and hubby was going to sit with our 4 yr old) We were hoping to be in rows right behind each other or accross from each other... What are the chances we will get this? I guess I should plan on packing 2 'entertainment' bags in case we all get separated.

Q: Do families still get to pre-board?
A: An adult traveling with a child four years old or younger will board between the "A" and "B" boarding groups, unless you have an "A" boarding pass. Those Customers holding an "A" boarding pass should board with the "A" boarding group. With an all-jet fleet outfitted with comfortable, leather seats, our families traveling with small children are easily accommodated together

So you should still be able to board after A and before B

Thank you so much for your prompt reply!!!! I feel so much better now. I was only an hour late for check-in but apparently there are so many other people more on the ball than me... I wouldn't mind us being separated too much but DH would not be happy to have to sit completely alone with one of the kids. If we are close together we could always 'child swap' if needed...

I don't think you will have a problem even if you wait for your number. I travelled with my parents back in Nov, we had B-35 and still found plenty of rows free. Of course they were near the back of the plane but still together.

You will be fine, as pp's mentioned you will board with the family boarding between A and B groups. However I would be prepared for the possibility that you may have to sit 2 and 2 and maybe not close as you would like. The further you head toward the rear of the aircraft the better your chances are.

While folks will move to be sure a child can sit with a parent they won't likely move so dad & child #1 can sit closer to mom and child #2, KWIM? Each parent should have a travel buddy set up ahead of time and a backpack with everything necessary to take care of that child for the duration of the flight. This will avoid confusion on the parents parts and anxeity on the childrens parts - its stressful enough these days!

It probably won't be an issue and I surely hope it isn't but its better to be prepared
