I heard that Southwest will allow you to bring your stroller on the plane and they put it at the back somewhere. Anyone know if this is true? We have the type that is sorta between the umbrella and full size. It folds up more like a full size one but doesn't weight much more than the umbrella type. It is this one to be more specific:

Anyone been able to take this type onboard?

I haven't travelled with a stroller on Southwest so can only tell you what I've seen. DS is 20 so it's been a while since I've had to deal with a stroller. :goodvibes

You can take your stroller to the gate and at the gate they will take the stroller and put it under the plane. It does have to be tagged though. You will get it back as you get off the plane. I've seen all sizes of strollers too.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Yes that does, thanks. I was visualizing myself carrying suitcases in one hand and a 2 year old hanging off my hip while DW carries the diaper bag and carry-on bags because we had to check it in at the ticket counter. As long as we can use it to the gates then I'm ok with that(not that I have an option anyways:rotfl:

You can take the stroller all the way down the jetway and just before you actually step on the plane, you will fold down your stroller and leave it on floor for the ramp attendants to come and get. They will take it outside and load it into the belly of the plane.
At the other end in MCO, since your stroller was loaded in last and thus sitting on top of all the other luggage in the cargo hold, the ramp attendants will offload all of the strollers and carry them up to the jetway where they will be waiting for the families as they disembark.
This is why as a family travelling with small children, its not really advantageous to get off the plane first, as you will just have to stand outside the plane door and wait for the attendants to bring up your stroller. You're better off to be one of the last ones off the plane so your stroller will be there and you won't be in everyone else's way as they disembark the plane.
