Does anyone know what is going to happen to Airtran since Southwest bought them. I mean it happened a while back. If I buy a ticket through Airtran- do I get the "perks" of Southwest?

A potential merger has been announced, but not finalized. It's business as usual for both carriers at this time.

That means on AirTran you'll pay for baggage and for seat assignments (if you would like them). Southwest ticket change policies also do not apply to AirTran customers.

Thanks- I was trying to get my airfare- and Airtran is actually cheaper odf course you have to figure in "extra fees"!! We are doing an Alaskan cruise and a week in Seattle in July afterwards and wanted to know if all of that luggage would be "free" LOL:rolleyes1
