I just got an email from Southwest travel, and one of thier deals is a trip to Disney and includes the free meal time period. Looks like you get Air, a day or 2 at US with transportation, 5 day pass at DW. I checked some dates, and for POP, it would be about $1400 for a week. It's like getting air for free. Plus if you book through EBATES, you'd get an additional % off.

Anyone use SW travel?

Hi! I took a look at this offer, even though we are not going till Sept. 2012. It seems like a good deal, although I've been looking, and if you can get a good % off deal on the resort, and a good air fare you might be able to beat their deal. I will be checking this out and comparing some more.
Did you see that they offer $40 off per person on WDW park tickets too? Don't have time to look to close now, but I am intrigued!
Unfortunatly my DH hates SW because we've had seating issues.:rolleyes1
Waiting to see if others have used them.

We use SW all the time. If you are worried about seating just pay the extra $10 each person for the Early Bird check-in you are always one of the first 30 people onto the plane and you get to choose your own seats...

We love Southwest. At least as of last November, they did not charge a baggage fee unless your luggage is over 50 lbs. each. As the PP said, you can pay an extra $10 per flight to be one of the first 30 ppl on the plane to choose seats. We have flown them for our past 4-5 trips to Orlando - it's always the cheapest flight we can find, and the free baggage is a huge discount.

They've been my airline of choice for almost 20 years. Fly early going and you'll avoid delays...and have plenty of seats to choose from!

This just isn't true. You will not always be one of the first 30 people on the plane. Many people report getting B seats when using EBCI.

When using EBCI, are you automatically checked in or do you do so on-line?
Thanks.

Your boarding number is assigned automatically for you. You still have to check in (either on-line or in person at the airport), but you don't have to check in right at the 24 hour mark.

The first boarding number available for Early Bird is A16 (A1-A15 are reserved for Business Select).

Can you share a link.. i do not see anything with Universal..thanks

I have booked vacations through Southwest Vacations and got a MUCH better deal than through Disney. We did the EBCI because my friend has plane fears and NEEDS a window seat or else she gets claustrophobic and needs to hold my hand when taking off and landing so she doesn't get sick. It was great and well worth the $10 extra bucks to be near the front of the plane and the first ones off! I was a little upset I had to share my seat with a rather large man though. I should have got a discount for that.

Its $10 each leg of the flight, each way, per person...so for some families it can add up....
we love SW

I agree, especially into/out of MCo, fly in early and leave early (more so in summer) rains issues in afternoons can cause delays...
Tues Wed and Sat best days to fly and usually less expensive as well ;),

How many people is the $1400 for? Could you provide a link to this?

Thanks!

:confused3

It was SWA. You could have moved. Although I hadn't realized service on SWA has sunk so low that passengers are now sharing seats!

I used SW Vacations a few years ago and got a steal. It was for 7 nights at a value resort, 7 day park hopper tickets, meal plan (the old one that included counter service, sit down, tips, and appetizers), and airfare for $599 per person. We had no issues whatsoever with the trip.

I tried to compare for us but it automatically inc. 10 day PH for our stay and I don't need them. Only buying the 2 day base tix. required for free QSDP. So I couldn't compare apples to apples. :confused3

I thought I'd let everyone know, that I recalulated my own vacation. I could have spent the same money, upgraded to a moderate resort and get to go to Univeral for the same cost. And I wouldn't have had to drive to Baltimore (an hour drive) I could have gone to Philly (20 minutes). I chose BWI, because Philly doesn't normally get good deals, and the ease of leaving my car. I contacted SWTravel and you can't use unused travel funds for your trip. So I would have pretty much been out my air fare. Live and learn.
