Was checking our flights for our trip and when I looked at the one coming home, it was the same. Then checked the one going down, and it was down $20! I was so excited! We had two booked on cash and two on points. Got the two cash ones rebooked and one point one done. Went to do the last one......and the price went back up. UGH!!!! So close! I didn't think that three seats would cause a price shift. I also wish when flights are booked on points all together, they got the same reservation numbers. Would make rebooking and checking in soooo much easier! OK....mini-vent over.

It's possible that there were only 3 seats available at the price and you got all 3 of them.

Keep checking, that 4th seat may open up tomorrow! I had a flight like that...one at a time....got all four over the course of a week.

That's happened to me, too. I feel your pain. Maybe try to do it simultaneously on different computers next time.

That's happened to me several times -- just keep checking :) Also try using a different computer /browser if not in privacy mode -- I'll often get higher prices on the browser I always use vs another browser with privacy settings on.

We've had this happen too -- only a few seats at the good price and some we had to book at a higher price, FYI. Sometimes we even rebooked everything at a different time because of this. // You think you figured everything out and have things booked and then it's back to plan B to keep the trip at a reasonable price or you up the budget if you really like the original time better.

I've had this happen to me on four different one way legs that I've booked on SW. On the other hand, I've booked about 90 legs on Southwest over the years, so percentage wise it hasn't happened all that often. I do realize, though, that it can happen and it's usually when you have minimal flexibility at a popular time, of course vs. one of those times when it's easy to change days and get a better price.

Note that this has happened to me when booking other airlines too. At least with Southwest there is no penalty to change. Most other airlines too will let you if this happens while you are booking your flights change without penalty -- I had to call once when this happened to me on American and I wanted to do other flights instead because after booking two, the price on the third jumped way up and I wanted to change times. Now we know when sites like Expedia say -- just three more tickets at this price, etc. what they are talking about.

Annoying as it is, I think you benefited by having the reservation split. If they were together, you'd not have got either of them at the cheaper fare (since you'd need two seats to be available). Since they were split, you could at least get one at the cheap price. And look for the second cheap seat (which, I see, did come through).

glass half full/glass half empty..... SWA is great, and I like to book separately, even some flights coming down is cause to be happy!

We had this last year and booked DH and I at a lower rate and DD's was about $20 more. I checked and checked and eventually found hers at the lower price :)
