Southwest Airlines & Luggage????

I recall hearing that Southwest Airlines was doing a trial run, at one resort only, of allowing Magical Express passengers to check their luggage at the resort.

Does anyone have any info on how that trial is going? Or has anyone heard of any plans to move forward with adding Southwest Airlines baggage check to all resorts?

I have not yet booked my flight home for our September trip.

Havent really heard a lot about it. It's in a trial run at POP right now. My guess is that if they decide to expand it to other resorts it will happen 'overnight' when they decide to do it. Of course I have no insight into the inner workings of it, but I personally dont think they will slowly add resorts if SW becomes a participating airline, it will just happen.

Just FYI, you do not need to use ME to check in your bags at the resort (RAC). They are two different systems run by two different companies. You can use RAC if you have a rental car or other mode of transport.

Any idea on how long the trial is? We are at Pop in October and would love it if Southwest is still running it then.

Someone on there listed a link to SW so that you can email them and let them know that you want to see the RAC expanded to all of the resorts. I think it was in posting #14 or 15
