Has anyone signed up for the Southwest Airlines Credit Card offer good for 2 free flights? It says it takes 6 to 8 weeks to receive credit. I want to take my Mom to DL end of July and this would be awesome to fly for $20 for both of us.

I did this last year when they offered it and the points posted a lot sooner than that....within maybe 10 days - 2 weeks of making a purchase.

I saw this offer.....was trying to decide if I should open the credit card or not

its a no brainer if you fly sw, pay your bill each month and take advantage of everything they offerpixiedust: we just got our FREE yearly miles for staying with them :lovestruc

yes i signed up like 4 months ago when they ran the promo.. bought something for a few bucks, waiting a few weeks got 50,000 points ,booked two round trips from kc and still have 17000 miles left over. all i got charged was the $10 per person 9/11 security fee. saved me like 650 dollars.. it's a no-brainer

That is a sweet deal!

Where is this deal? I Googled it and only find something saying the deal was cancelled. :confused3

The points got posted on the first billing cycle, which was about a month out from sign up. I've already booked my first flight to Dallas, but it's expensive flying back to Cali this summer. I'm really hoping to avoid San Fran, but it's half the cost at the moment.

I'm trying to stretch the points further, since I make two trips a year. So I'm cringing at the 12,000 points for a flight. It's usually 6-8,000 points. Although you get almost a free flight every year with the annual fees. $99 fee gets you 6,000 bonus points.

Point prices are looking good for a summer trip if you fly into Orange County.

We signed up and were each approved. I was playing around on the SWA vacation site and to make a long story short, my DH and I just returned from a cruise that we went on for $300 TOTAL using SWA points that we got for signing up. The $300 is because we each had to buy a few more points to cover a shortage in the total points of the cruise!!!

I just got my card yesterday so I just need to make a small purchase now to get my points. Between the bonus points and all the flying work is making me do I should be able to take my next few personal flights free. (Work lets us keep all our points for our own use)

I believe the card has a fee that begins in the second year ($69 if not mistaken). I can't recall the cancellation policy, but it's worth taking into consideration.

$69 is true however you could cancel before then. Also the fee is actually less since you get $50 worth of free points as a bonus each year so really you only pay $20 for the card as long as you would use the points.

DH just signed up for the card and his fee was on his very first statement he just received a couple days ago.

Guess SW is catching on to all those people taking advantage of the free flights and then cancelling the card.

Annual fee is assessed after the first billing cycle. We got this too; our annual fee is $69, and we've got over 50k points sitting there, waiting to be used!

Which would you sign up for ? the $69 or $99 annual fee? I'm wondering what makes more sense for me...

Whichever one they give you. ;) I was signed up for the $69 fee card, but then they gave me 6,000 bonus pts for the yearly fee instead of 3,000.

So I'm not sure exactly what you'll get with either fee. :upsidedow

If you get the premier card ($99), then you also recieve 1500 qualifying tier points for each $10000 that you spend on the card, allowing you to reach A status more quickly. If that matters to you.

DH and I both just applied and were approved last night. So between us, we will have 100,000 points.

I will now use this instead of Amex for gas and groceries, etc. to rack up more points. Planning to use it to fly five of us to Disney again next April!

I NEVER do credit card offers, but this was too good to pass up. Between both cards, we get at least four flights. Only have to pay the $69 fee on each and $10 security fee. So for five of us, we can fly rt for like $190!

Have a question...have a "bump" on my credit and not sure anyone else cares to admit this in a public forum. My "bump" involves co-signing on a car loan for someone (will never do this again) and the car being trashed and towed-not worth anything but still owing a couple thousand dollars. I negotiated with the car company and paid it off but at a lesser amount...well this shows as an issue on my credit. Everything else is perfect on my account but this does affect my score. This happened 2 years ago so is still fairly fresh. Just wondering if anyone else has less than steller credit and has gotten approved, don't want to add to the problem by having SW decline me. Please feel free to private message me if you would rather not reply in the public forum. Thanks:)
