We are flying SWA again but this is the first time we have a "stop" without a plane change.
I was wondering what a "stop" entails,
Getting off the plane then boarding again, if so do we board first?
Staying on the plane and waiting, how long?
Can we change seats, maybe to bulkhead row :)?

Also, does anyone have suggestions on the best row to sit and/or arrangement? There are 4 of us and if I remember correctly the rows are 3 seats each. Should we sit it the same row across the isle or 2 in one row and 2 in the other either in front or behind.

Thanks for any suggestions!

You don't get off.
You can change seats after the FA takes a head count.
The wait depends on what the schedule is but usually about 30 min.

Do you wish to post your flight # and date? Maybe others can help with details if they know more about your flight plans. As to the seating arrangement, that depends or personal preference. Normally a "stop" is about 30 minutes to get the passengers off and on again.

We had a 20 minute stop on our last SW flight. Most of that time was eaten up by the passengers leaving the plane. You can change seats after the headcount, but you may only have a minute or two before they start boarding again, so if you are going to change then have all your stuff ready to go so you don't waste time fiddling around with things.

As far as the bulkhead, though, just know that SW (and some other airlines) will often use that row for any pre-boarding passengers using wheelchairs. It wasn't available for general boarding on any of our last couple flights.

Sit in whatever configuration you please.

Bulkhead seats are a pain - no underseat storage and smaller seat width due to tray tables in the arms.
