Hi
has anyone ever done this? I'm not so concerned about getting the best seat, I'm more concerned that I'll forget to check in at the 24 hour mark especially for the flight home as I don't know where I'll be at that time.

Yes, I've done it. To me it's worth the $12 to not have to remember to check in and fight for a decent seat.

Just did it on a trip last week, no worrying about checking in especially on the return leg. We were in row 4 on the way down and in row 2 on the way back. To me it's definitely worth it especially when the tix were cheaper than American.

I have used the phone app to check in, or stopped at Guest services in my hotel, or even in the park to check in.

I was just saying on another thread that I rarely do it.

I have a reminder on my phone that alerts me when it's time to check in. Google automatically adds the flight to the calendar so it's an easy click to add the reminder 24 hours before. I find it super easy to just click on my phone and check in

I do it for every flight out of Orlando. Worth it not to worry about checking in right at the 24 hour mark when I don't know where we'll be or what we are doing. Plus the flights leaving MCO are almost always full and we prefer not to sit in the very back of the plane.

Never do it for the trip to Orlando. We usually leave uite early and I'm always up anyway. :)

Always. With Early Bird Check-In no longer being a new feature, more people are hip to it now and more people purchase it. If you check in at 24 hours on your own, you'll be behind all the folks that purchased it.

unfortunately, people seem to also be 'hip' to purchasing just one EBIC one for their group and then feel entitled to hold down entire rows. I have only seen this phenom on flights to Orlando. :confused3

First flight out of day to MCO on Saturdays, with an A EBIC #, flying from PIT; and I've often seen the first open row half way back on plane :rolleyes1.

IMO this lessens the value of the EBIC, but still a necessary evil on Orlando runs for me just for peace of mind to be seated with my travel party.

This OR even Guest Relations at the park if you happen to be in a park at the 24 hour mark.. Just ask the Guest Relations CM nicely and they will normally be willing to assist you as long as they are not extremely busy, obviously if there is a long line I would avoid doing this..

Agreed. Even more of a reason to get EBCI, IMO. If you don't and you're behind all that, you may very well end up with a middle seat or in the last row, unless you're willing to get confrontational with a seat saver.

$75 roundtrip for our party of 3 is a small price to pay to avoid the worry.
