Hi everyone:

Has anyone us ed Southwest to book their cruise? They seem to have reasonable prices for the Feb 2005 cruise I'm looking at. I've never used any kind of travel agent or "middle-man" to book my vacations, and I'm kind of nervous to give up the controls. My main concern is that if I go through any kind of agent, and the prices go down prior to the actual cruise date, can I get the difference refunded?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

Southwest just started doing this a week or two ago. (I had posted a thread on the subject.) I checked out my 2005 dates and they were $100 more than what I paid through Costco but still cheaper than the other three companies I had received quotes from. I wouldn't hesitate to book through them although you probably should call and ask about the price drop policy. If you do call please post their reply. Thanks!!

Please try using www.CruiseCompete.com. Someone on these board recommended it and it worked out really well for me booking my short-notice DCL cruise. Disney quoted me $6171 for my cruise and most other were around $5600, including when I checked Southwest on my own. On CruiseCompete, I had an one agent come in at $5300 and another at $5100. The definitely beat Southwest's price.

Just wanted to say "hi neighbor" - I live in Milford. We're cruising next week (4/29). I always fly Southwest, but booked through Travelocity because SW wasn't booking at the time. I'd book through them now if they were competitive. Check Travelocity also - their prices were least expensive at the time I booked. I'm hoping SW will expand and offer air/cruise combo deals, or rapid rewards points for cruise bookings. It would be definitely worth it then, and I wouldn't be surprised if they do a combo in the future.

Hi gottaluvdis:

I was just up in Milford yesterday afternoon for DD's softball game! Not a fun ride up 101 through Nashua/Amherst at that time of day!

We still are not 100% sure we are going to do the cruise. I'm still in the "fact-finding" phase. I wish the 7-day Western was just a bit less expensive, although I have friends who spent almost the same amount for a 4-day trip to Turks & Caicos last December.

Anyway....hope you have an awesome time on your cruise...please post when you return and let us know how everything goes.

Have fun!

I hear ya about 101-A! Your DD might have even been playing right near me - I live down the street from some of the fields. My DD (7) just started playing the other day for the first time - the jury's still out for her. We're only doing the 3-day cruise because it's the first time any of us have cruised and we are also going down to visit my in-laws for a few days. We do the parks pretty often (usually 2x/year) because of my in-laws proximity to Orlando. I will definitely let you know how our first cruising experience goes and will also post a trip report.

Hi guys! Just wanted to add that I'm from NH too. Lakes Region though. Have a great time on your cruise....I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to afford one for me and the 3 kids. LOL!
