I am considering flying SW and I have no idea how it works with getting lower fares, etc. I see it all the time about Dings. Would someone be kind enough to give me the low down or point me to where I could find out some information?

If you get a lower fare, do you get the money back or does it go to credit for a future trip?

Thanks.

i think you are best to book at a rate you are comfortable with. Although you can get lower rates, my experience, is that they keep the credit for you to use within a year. I don't have any experience with refunds as i was not able to get a refund. I think generally you would only get a credit. If you wait til rates drop it would be a chance of cheaper fares but you might not get the flight you want.

You need to go to the SWA website and download the DING program. Once loaded you will get a DING about once or twice a day on selected flights for selected days.

The only disadvantage of DINGS is that you cannot change an existing reservation to a DING fare. You must first cancel your reservation and then make a new one.
