A sight we witnessed this evening at the local Mexican restaurant:

A guy hauled in several grocery bags filled with snow and then proceeded to build a snowman ON the bar. No, I'm not joking.

People in the south go crazy when it snows.

We actually know the guy - sort of. We're all regulars and he had stopped by our table and offered to bring in some snow and build a snowman for the girls. We all laughed it off and thought he was kiddding - apparently he wasn't.

It really is beautiful down here though. A winter wonderland.

Hey we don't get it very often, we have to fully enjoy it when we can! LOL!

*goes back to building a snowman on my breakfast bar*

I know my friend called me she was ecstatic about the 1/2" of snow she had on the ground in northern Georgia. I shared in her excitement then told her I had about 15-16" of the stuff in the front yard :rotfl:

I would have loved to see the guy build a snowman on the bar :lmao:

My nieces in Shreveport were thrilled with the snow. One said she put a small snowman in their freezer, since it'll probably all be gone tomorrow.

Sorry, but we tend to get a little excited! I live in the Florida panhandle and we saw snow today! Actual snowflakes in Florida! We drove about 30 minutes north into Alabama to actually play in a couple of inches of the stuff. Saw a few snowmen in the back of pickup trucks today! We had a fun "Snow Day"!

I am surprise something was open. Do someone forget tell him he suppose to close the bar. It snow ground time to shut down the city. LOL :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

This cracks me up! I'm from Wisconsin so we don't usually give snow a second thought. One winter, my daughter was maybe three or four, she had been outside and made at least a hundred, teeny tiny snowmen that were maybe two or three inches big. It was so precious and I told her I loved her snowmen and wished I could keep them forever. A few months later, I went to get something out of the freezer in the garage and what do I find, a bunch of teeny tiny snowmen that she wanted to save! Gosh do I miss those sweet, innocent little acts of love.

We do get excited about snow down here!!

The last time we had around 3" was 1973 so it has been a while.

Yep, my girls, 16 and 11, made a small snowman and put him in the freezer for later, too!

We only got about an inch or so this go round but people were STILL shopping like crazy. I'm just glad I didn't have to drive to Charlotte last night when it started....our plans got canceled. ;o) Still gotta go out today though to pick up GS Cookies.

The metro Atlanta area is a beautiful sight right now. It's our version of Party Time. When I first moved here in 83 from NW Indiana (about an hour from Chicago) I thought everyone was nuts. Now DH and I love it. My DD works PT at Kroger and said they were packed yesterday.

At any given time you can find a small snowman in my freezer. I'm glad we finally have a new one the other one was looking umm not so fresh! :goodvibes

It is funny. Kind of like how it's funny to see all the northerners wearing t-shirts and shorts at WDW even if it is winter and below 50 degrees, while all the southerners are enjoying bundling up in sweatshirts and jackets. Everyone wants to enjoy the weather they don't normally get to have :). I've really enjoyed the record-setting snow (10"+ in a single day) we had this week here in the DFW area :thumbsup2.

Not to hijack.....but this reminds me of a story!

LONG ago (1982-1985) I was stationed at Tyndall AFB in Panama City, Florida. I am originally from Ohio. I was busy and noticed that everyone had left the shop to go outside. I thought we were having an IFE (in flight emergency). I mean EVERYONE was outside from all the shops!!!!

Why???? Because there were snow flurries!!! ***!!! I was totally amazed the basically the entire flightline stopped working so people could look at SNOW!:scared1:

I will NEVER forget what a big deal that was! I rolled my eyes and went back to work! (Had a flashback to having a shovel in my hands....Ohio winters!)
