I don't know if this is the right place but I need help. (What else is new:)

We are planning to go to San Diego first before DL. That's me, hubby, DD 8, DD 6, DS 5, and DD 2. We got the Southern California City Passes so we are planning to visit Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Universal Studios, and Legoland before hitting DL. We land on a Thursday and will start our adventures on Friday.

For those of you that have done these parks before can you help me decide which days to do what park? I've already figured out that Tuesday we would check out of our hotel in San Diego drive to Universal Studios, do some rides there and then check-in at our DL hotel. Wed. is my daughter's birthday so we want to make sure we're in DL for that. My husband also wants to see seals or something somewhere by La JOlla. Does anyone know anything about that? I'm thinking that'll be a good thing to do on Saturday since all the parks are probably very busy. Oh, we're going from 4/17 to 4/26.

Thanks for any and all advice.

The seals are at the Children's Pool in La Jolla. Beautiful area! I don't know if the seals will be there when you are there though, they are trying to get them out of the pool. You should be able to still see some off the coast though. And there are tide pools and stuff out there too.

Tuesday sounds like a verrrry long day. It's going to be probably 2.5 hrs from SD to Universal. Then another hour plus back from Universal to your DL hotel. Longer if you hit rush hour. So I would suggest doing Legoland on Monday (if it's open - it's not open every day so be sure to check) and then continuing to your DL hotel that evening. Legoland is about 30 miles north of SD so you're 1/3 of the way to Anaheim already. Then do Universal on Tues with the DL hotel as your base.

I would do Sea World on Friday... it's smaller than the zoo and doesn't seem to handle the crowds as well. The show arenas can fill up quickly so if you can go on a weekday it should be a bit easier. The zoo or wild animal park should be ok on the weekends. Get there as close to opening as you can. It's practically empty for the first hour or two.

We're doing some of the same things around the same time - no legoland or universal though (have covered before).

We are planning Sea World for Friday, zoo for Saturday, drive to DL Sunday - that way we can catch the fireworks which are only happening at the weekend at that time.

Your plan looks fine - the only possible change is to leave Universal until later in the week - are you planning to do early entry/magic mornings at all? And of course, leave a weekend night free for the fireworks!

Have a great time
