Southern CA 2 Day Park Hopper Ticket questions...

Hi there,

My husband and I are considered "residents" for this deal, but we already have APs. His cousin from the bay area is visiting tonight, and we want to know if we can purchase one of these tickets FOR him. Do they ask for his ID only, or can ours suffice as the purchasers?

Another question is what can we do with the second day park hopper? He won't use it, and like I said, we already have APs. What are the rules regarding who can use the ticket? Can we sell it? (Disneyland.com simply does not answer these questions!)

TIA!

Your not suppose to sell tickets that have already been used by one person. Disney tickets are not transferrable. But, I have seen them on ebay or heard of people who sell the second day to a friend. The tickets do not have a name on them so no one know who used the first day.

I have always heard you show your id when you purchase the tickets, but do not show id when using the tickets to go thru the gate. My husband even called Disney and they told him that a resident can buy the tickets and give them to family/friends who are visiting.

Thanks, that answered my questions. I guess to sell it on eBay, someone would really have to trust you, huh? Maybe we can find someone we know who would like to buy it.

If you're asking about the "2fer" ticket then you should know that the second day has to be used within 30 days of first ticket use. The same goes for the So Cal. 2 day PH ticket which is $94 versus the $69 for the 2fer.

Personally, I would never buy a partially (or even supposedly new) ticket on sites like Ebay, or craigslist. Besides the fact that it's illegal, as a buyer you are taking a huge risk that the ticket is even valid. I would be completely embarrassed to try to go thru the turnstyle only to be turned away when told the ticket is no good. Then you're out whatever you paid for the used ticket and have to buy a new one if you still want to go.

But maybe it's just me-Last year I found several PH tix (on different days) at DCA and turned them into Guest Services. The tickets had no names on them but I was hoping the guests who lost them would think to check GS to see if they had been turned in. I suppose I could have had them checked to see how many days were left but how would I have explained that? I couldn't bring myself to do it. I know how I would feel if I lost my ticket and someone had turned them in. :)

Under the 2fer deal it says, "Admission valid for one day at Disneyland® park and another day at Disney's California Adventure® park, but not for both parks on the same day. Tickets are valid 30 days from first use. First use must occur between 01/06/09 through 06/03/09. Each day of use constitutes one full day of use."

HOWEVER...
Under the 2 day ParkHopper it says, "The first visit must occur on or before January 4, 2010. All Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® Tickets expire 13 days after first use or on January 17, 2010, whichever occurs first."

So, if you are buying PHs vs. the 2fer deal, there is a difference in this key aspect of the tickets.

You're right. I miss read the So Cal 2 Day Park Hopper for $25 more. The standard 2 day PH allows you more days. But I'm assuming OP is talking about the "2fer" ticket.

Well, my big concern is being able to use my friend's Southern California 2fer ticket if I can't get a military ticket. Maybe we'll show up at the gate and I'll only have my military ID, having "forgotten" my Pennsylvania drivers' license.

I think you will probably be ok. Which is cheaper, the military ticket or the 2fer? I'd definitely try to get the military ticket, I think they are cheaper.

I don't know. My services guy has been out all week so hopefully I get a phone call or an e-mail come Monday. I'm hoping I can score some of the free tickets but I don't know if I qualified as I am a Reservist. For $69, I might just have her get two tickets and stash the PA ID.

Hi,

My 2-day park hopper ticket says that first use must occur by 4/12/10, not valid before 1/5/10. and then it says Expires 30 days from first use.

Does that mean that I can use this until 5/12??

Because I honestly don't remember when we went..I know it was earlier or mid April 2010..but I couldn't be sure...It was my friend's treat and I don't have a receipt that shows when we went.

I'm afraid that if I drive all the way out there it won't work.

Does the bar code on the 2-day ticket calculate when I went?
