I used their new service out of allentown, last thursday the flight was delayed 3 hours due to the weather first and then having a water leak in the plane flooding the cockpit, we had to wait until the entire water system was drained but the trip was nice and smooth. I find their planes to be very small, barely any leg room , bring your own snacks, they only provide a drink. The safety check points are quite thorough, yesterday on my way back several people including myself were picked out of the passengers and checked , they made me take my shoes off, went with the manual metal detector and checked absolutely everything in my carry on, so don't be surprised if they do it to you either. They check the lugagge weight and they will also ask you about your weight, they keep track of how much weight goes on the plane.
The trip back was on time and smooth. I guess the only thing that would stop me from using them again would be the leg room issue , it can be quite uncomfortable for someone tall.

Flying out of ABE in March and have a few questions for you, if you don't mind. Did you leave your car in the lot? How much was it a day? How was Sanford airport? Did you use a town car to get to WDW? Sorry about the lack of leg room, luckily for me we're all short stuffs!!!

Okay, I have no problem checking my luggage weight, I do it myself before I leave home. But, I can't picture myself standing at an airline counter telling everyone MY weight. :p :p

Yes I left my car in the lot at ABE and it was $7 a day in the economy lot. Sanford airport is small but very nice and clean, no problem there. I used a rental car, ( national ) they are on site as well as Hertz, Avis , Alamo and Dollar but I must say I never saw any people working on the dollar counter or people renting.
YES they do ask you for YOUR weight at the counter, as a matter of fact they had a scale next to the table to go on if you don't know your weight, they asked me and everyone I saw, both ways.

Mskanga, I was also on that Thursday morning flight! What a wait, huh? Could've spent that extra time sleeping in!:)

mom2of2, I, too, rented a car but used Dollar. Though they have a rental desk in the baggage claim area, no one was manning it when we arrived. The Dollar site is just across from the terminal, but still inside the airport. It's a walk. Next time we're using National and their site seems closer to SE's terminal.

I met a woman on the plane who had no idea how she was going to get to WDW from Sanford. We carpooled. I did see a Mears bus at the airport, but the set-up is nothing like MCO. There were some cabs outside as well as a board with a list of local transportation providers and their phone numbers. If you are not renting a car, I would strongly suggest using a towncar service that will meet you at the airport.

The ride from Sanford to MCO was about 45 minutes to an hour. I didn't tally the tolls on the Greeneway since my plane pal paid, but they seemed to be in the area of $5. Returning, I took I-4 to Lake Mary Road(?). Exit is well marked leading to Sanford Airport and had no tolls. However, it's my understanding traffic on I-4 through Orlando can be a bear during the weekdays, so you may want to take that into consideration when planning your route.

Hope you didn't mind my jumping in.

Sharon

Thank you both for the info. We are using TTC from Sanford to WDW so that's taken care of. I've always flown out and into large airports so this should be interesting to say the least. With the way things are in the world today I'd much rather stay away from the larger ones (PHL,EWR) anyway.

WOW Mulan, it's a small world after all, LOL.
I took I4 both ways, to and from WDW, it was a straight shot , no traffic or anything and I paid no tolls. I wouldn't hesitate to fly into Sanford again but maybe with a different airline if the price is right, the space in southeast planes really needs to improve but if the price is right next time I may use them again, only this time I know which seats to ask for.

I am leaving in a few hours--like 8 for ABE airport. I am also flying on Southeast into Sanford.

THANK YOU for that report. Can u pick where you want to sit?

We have a towncar. I have heard Sanford is very clean. I guess Im about to find out. The price was right for my tickets as well. I got in on that promotion when they first came into ABE back in august--I think. $59 each way. I usually fly US Air and they didnt come close to the price.

I will check in with you when I get back :)

Take care, Stacy

I did not ask where to sit , they offered me but if you ask , you may be able to get what you want. Personally I would ask for one of the first rows. Have a great trip!!
