South Shore of Massachusetts!

I'm from Quincy. My parents were born and raised in Southie.
I have relatives all over the South Shore and I LOVE Boston!
But I live in SOUTH Florida now, it's not quite the same.;)

Well Im not from the South shore Im from a town called Wrentham!! (small town although I hear its not as small now!!:))
I really miss Mass!! My Dad lives in the Cape (Mashapee)

Born and raised in North Quincy. Lots of friends & family still living on the South Shore. No matter how long I live in TX, MA is still home.:D

I grew up in Framingham...which I know is not south shore, but: I have a brother in Scituate who works in Randolph.........aunt and cousins in Stoughton.....grammar school friend who summered at Humarock and now lives in Norwell...another brother works in Pembroke.........my ex's new wife is a Quincy girl (he lives in Medway)......a college friend from Braintree spent the "blizzard of '78" stranded at the General Cinema theatre off 128.......
so, can I be an honorary South Shore DISer ? ;)
:)

Ann,

By virtue of being able to spell Scituate, Humarock, and Stoughton, you are an official honorary South Shore Home Girl!! ;)

Wellll, seeing as FigmentVI is my Mom.....I grew up in Whitman too- lol. I've also spent almost every summer since I was a little girl in Duxbury and I call that my home (even though I live in NY now)

We live in western suburban Boston. I teach in town but also get down to hospitals in Quincy and Brockton;) ;) ;) ;) ........

Tnkrbell I don't know when you were back there last, but Wrentham has wonderful outlet shopping there now. I'm about 45 minutes away, but I'm planning a trip there soon for some Christmas shopping!

:)

Eros, I thought you worked in town. I was wondering if our paths ever crossed. I work in Healthcare Sales doing benefits fairs and since many of the teaching hospitals carry our health plan I've been at a lot of them lately for open enrollment.

I wonder how many DISers may have crossed paths and don't even know it!

Yikes....It's possible we may have seen each other at one time or another! (Between myself, DSs, and DH, we've been at Brockton hospitals quite a bit in the last couple of years!)

That's right my darling daughter you are definitely a South Shore girl. After all, you were born in South Shore Hospital!!!!

LOL Debster, spelling Scituate correctly does make someone an honorary South Shorer. But can they pronounce it? The first time my DH saw a sign for Scituate he pronounced it Ski-tu-8. Of course I bopped him on the head and set him straight.

We lived in Quincy but in the summers my parents would rent a cottage by the beach in Scituate. My aunt and uncle live in Duxbury now, what a beautiful place!
My Dad ( he passed away 2 years ago) had a house on Wollaston Beach, right behind the Clam Shack.
We visited Boston twice during the winter 2 years ago.
In spite of the cold, and the sad circumstances that brought us there, we fell in love with the city and the surrounding areas.

My aunt and uncle's house in Duxbury:

I grew up in Brockton. I lived in Middleboro for a short time. My DH and I lived in Wollaston for a bit and now we live in Raynham with our 8 yr old DD.

I grew up in Jamica Plain...and now live right on the 495 area. As a matter of fact Mamu and I live very close to eachother :) Commute 45 minutes everyday into Dorchester wfere I teach!!!

Nice to meet ya :)

I live on the Cape!... on the Bay Side.
