What change are you referring to? That's just it, there hasn't been a change. By bumping a three year old thread, it caused confusion for readers. Do you think that's the goal of the Dis?

That change is, since shortly after the first of the year, the DIS software, when you attempt to post a new post, prompts you to respond to existing posts rather than start a new one. If they don't want you to revive old posts, why do they have it set to do this?

That pop-up does NOT prevent you from starting a new thread. Looks more like a 'reminder' in the event you didn't realize a similar thread already exists. The OP 3 yrs ago was asking a S. Korea/covid related question. A recent user is asking about travel to S. Korea................two different things to me that should not be lumped into a single thread to avoid confusion.

It’s not something they just turned on to make it a policy that you have to use an old thread it is a NEW feature that came when the software was updated by the company they use to run the board. They may not have the option to turn it off, like when apple updates the software on an iPhone and now you need to relearn to do things differently.
