I was wondering what kind of successes people have with this diet. I havent read the book yet, and am considering going back to Weight Watchers or trying this. But i have heard alot about South beach, and wanted to know if people are happy with it. thanks.

Have only been on it for about a month. We also skipped phase one all together. We eat the bars for breakfast. The lunches or bars for lunch and then a regular dinner. W/O sugars. We also do not have many snacks at all. We just do not have time.

DH lost 11 lbs in the first 3 1/2 weeks
I lost 7 lbs in the first 3 1/2 weeks

Then we went to disney on the dining plan and I gained 2 lbs back. So we are back on the diet again.
I need to loose 15 more lbs. wish me luck. This is the first time I have been on a diet. So far, it is not to hard. Of course I am not totally following the diet.
The bars are about 220-240 calories and they really fill you up. So if you have that for breakfast and lunch by dinner you have only had 480 calories. There is no way you would not, loose weight. Unless you just went nuts and ate candy bars and ice cream for dinner. lol

Enjoy whatever diet you go on. I hope you loose all the weight you want.

I'm wondering how SB folks are doing too.

I have heard that it is easier to follow than Atkins.

I think whatever it is that can help you make healthier eating choices is a good plan. Best WISHes!

I've been doing South Beach for the last 3 1/2 months (my DH has been doing it with me too!) and we LOVE this diet. We actually don't feel like we're on a diet, it's definitely a way of eating, and a change we want to follow for the rest of our lives.

We like South Beach because there's no weighing, measuring, counting points, etc. Either you can eat it, and you eat (within reason) as much as it takes for you to not feel hungry, or you can't eat it. It's a very well-balanced diet, my own doctor recommends it.

I've lost almost 30 pounds so far (and that includes a few vacations and a trip to Disney World), and my DH has lost over 30 pounds.

There's a South Beach diet thread here somewhere, I'll try and find it!
