I know that Biergarten offers one soup in its buffet, and that *sometimes* it is cheddar cheese soup (similar to the cheddar cheese soup at Le Cellier). Has anyone been to Biergarten recently? If so, what kind of soup were they serving?

Thank you!

I have never seen cheddar soup. I think potato leek sometimes and tomato once. We got every trip , most recently in march. Hopefully someone who went more recently will chime in!

We went in December and there was a cheddar cheese/beer soup that was amazing. Especially when you dipped the pretzel bread in it....

We have had the cheddar beer soup just once in many visits. I believe it was also December which matches what I have read, but never seen confirmed, that the rotation is seasonal, at least, to some degree.

If they had the soup when I went it would have made beirgarten a much higher rated restaurant on my list.

Us too. We had the cheese soup on our very first visit years ago and haven't seen it again since :-(

We've had the beer cheese soup our past few December trips. I think in September it was some sort of tomato?

We have always gone in November and December and they have the beer cheese soup every time. I also believe it's a seasonal thing. So, if you go in Spring or Summer its probably going to be the different soup, it's a shame because the beer cheese soup and pretzel bread is fantastic! They should have it year round!

I have eaten there at least 20 times more if you count when it was not a buffet and I have never seen soup period and a number of different months... but a lot of late august or early July in the past 5 or so years.

We've had it on the menu a few times...and we rarely go in cold months... August, typically.

The cauliflower one is good, too!

BTW, the cheese soup at Biergarten is far and away better than Le cellier.

Thanks guys! It sounds like November/December is the time for cheese soup, but we will be going in June. Ah well, I will look forward to other kinds.

Thanks for the tip about Refreshment Port, @JerseyJanice

We always go in June and I have seen split pea soup, cauliflower soup and potato leek soup.

I did not care for the split pea soup, but the others were amazing!
