Hi all - I am obsessed with the parades - they are my favorite entertainment so I have a couple parade - a - holic questions for y'all.

1. The first parade goes from TT to Main street right? So about how long does it take the parade to get to main street/castle area?

2. Are there show stops in this parade... and if so - where can you sit to catch two of them? I know with parade of dreams I had figured out where to sit to get two show stops but can't remember where that was.

Thanks

4 pm parade starts at Small World ends at Town Square.
6:30 pm parade starts at Town Square and ends at Small World. It last approx 15 minutes.

It takes about 10/15 minutes to get to the Castle/Main Street. There are no scheduled stops. I suppose if you watched it at Small World, you could scurry through Fantasyland, through the castle and down the right side of hub to Main Street and hurry to the front of the train station. If you're alone, I think you could make it and watch all over again from the town hall/train station area.

Thank you for the information - exactly what I wanted to know... since there are no show stops it must be over a bit faster than the last couple of parades...

So if parade starts at 5:00pm and we sit near the castle we could concievably be done watching it by 5:30 to head to dinner at Plaza Inn right before park closes at 6:00pm that night?

or you could just watch right next to the plaza inn to make sure you get your goodies. Also Mary Poppins ends the parade so after you see that you can take off.

Yes, the parade will be done by that time and you'll have plenty of time to make it to the Plaza Inn. As you wrote, without the show stops, it's completely finished and off the parade route faster than Celebrate and Parade of Dreams.

For a time reference, we were watching the 4pm parade today in Town Square, just in front of the Train Station. This was near the end of the parade route, since they started at IASW. The first parade unit went by us at 4:20pm and the last unit went by at 4:33pm. If you're near the Castle or Plaza Inn, the parade will be over even sooner than the 1/2 hour mark. I hope you enjoy the parade when you finally get to visit!

I was going to say that it takes about 20 min. for the parade to go from IASW to TS but Aramadillo beat me to it.

Quick note on the dining question-if the park is closing at 6 p.m. many of the eating establishments close down earlier. Some will close an hour before. There have been times when we have looked for a place to eat within the park's last hour only to find nothing really open. This is different in WDW.

Thank you for the confirmation - Uh Oh - I was worried about the dining but thought surely they wouldn't close at 5pm - where are restaurant hours posted? Do we have to check at the restaurant that morning to see if it has shortened hours? Do they have to go boxes - maybe we could grab our food at 4:30 and head to town square to watch the parade and eat... thanks for all this great information guys - it is weird trying to fit in parade and dinner on such a strange day for hours.

I think the Plaza Inn typically closes 1 hour before the Park closes. Now when the Park closes at 6pm, they could adjust this, of course. If this is crucially important to your plans, I would call and ask since it's a unique day, hours-wise.

HTH,
Dreams

P.S. I checked my photos from "Soundsational." The last photo (including the rope signifying the end of the parade was taken exactly 15 minutes after my picture of the drum line in the very beginning of the parade.

I thought this particular parade was just for the summer. The schedule shows it running for the last time on Labor Day.

Mickey's Soundsational Parade is the long term parade it will be around for years. If you take a closer look at the schedule you will see it going past Labor Day.

Ahh...I see that now, just some of the associated Soundsational Summer events end on Labor Day.

Yes, because the parade was new at the beginning of summer, it was used to promote coming to DLR during the summer. One of the great new things, that you have to see, right now!
