Soundsational Parade direction

We have reservations for an early dinner at Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue at 4:50 pm. (Early dinner because we have little ones who won't make it to a later time.) I would like to see the 4 pm parade, so naturally i would like to view it at the beginning of the route, then scoot over to the dinner.

Is this doable, or should I wait for the 6:30 pm Parade - no matter which direction it is going?

How can we learn the direction of the parade - is there any way to know in advance of the day of the park visit?

Any advice? TIA.

PS - our visit is on a Sunday, a rather busy day if that matters to your advice.

This is what I found: When there are 2 parades, the first begins at It's a Small World and the second starts at Main Street. If there is 1 parade that day, it starts at Main Street.

Hopefully that's correct!

Yes, the first parade normally goes from It's A Small World to Main Street. The parade takes about 20 minutes to clear any one location. So if you watched right from It's a Small World Mall, the parade should finish up around 4:20 pm, giving you time to get to the Big Thunder BBQ (even accounting for post-parade traffic). I don't think being a Sunday will necessarily matter in this case...

Thanks, Figment.... my son wants to see it this summer (we're not really parade people) so that is good to know about one parade vs two and which direction it will go.
