My aunt and uncle and their 2 kids (21 and 18) are there right now, and she texts us a few times a day. She asked today if I had ever been when the sign at the front said "park full". We have been 3 times, twice in Oct and once in Sept, and never experienced this. This was their first trip, so I hope they are still able to enjoy themselves.

Yeah - I'm hoping that by next Wednesday, things will quiet down. I think the week inbetween Christmas and New Year's is usually packed.

I can believe the park was full today! :crowded: At about 8:20 this morning, the line for Pirates was already down in Frontierland. :confused3 Fast passes were going like crazy to most rides and you could barely walk for the hoardes of people trying to get place to place. Even DCA seemed crowded today for the first time in the 8 days we were park hopping.

Yeesh! Thanks for the heads up! I was planning to hit the parks tomorrow to relax and shop. I guess I just have to post-pone it. :guilty:

Yep the busiest week of the year for the parks! Hopefully they are still having fun.

Thursday was awful!
Christmas Day was not nearly as cowded.
We hopped over to the much calmer DCA for Thursday evening.
Didn't do many rides this trip .. all the major rides only once, less popular rides only twice.
Did see lots of shows, bands, parade, performers of various types all over the park... something we usually don't take time out to do on a trip.

Thursday 3 pm parade was very nice, we had prime viewing spot on RR platform. Loved the band from Mexico!

My cousins are going to DL tomorrow with their friends. I warned them that it would be crowded but they don't think it will be. Guess they'll find out tomorrow.:rolleyes1

We went to DL the day after Christmas, and it was mobbed, but we got there a little past opening and were able to ride everything, (using FPs of course as well.) The next day, we went to DCA at opening and rode everything we wanted multiple times. It was not busy, but that could be due to the fact that the weather predictions were awful. The weather was clear but chilly, but it had rained overnight and that morning, so some people may have cancelled their plans. I don't know if DL filled to capacity on the 26th, but my SIL said that they were no longer selling one day one park tickets to DL when they arrived around 10 AM. We had a great trip, but it was tough to move around at DL, due to the crowds, and I was glad that we had a PS ressie for Blue Bayou at five. I don't know where we would have even begun to try to get even a table at a CR restaurant due to the masses of people everywhere! :crowded:

yea, its busy... and you guys need to give the CM a break if they arent too nice and such... its sooooo busy and crazy!

Ah, but Albort, we pay the same price and expect the same magic as folks going during the quieter times. If we're nice to the CMs, I think we should be able to expect to get friendliness in return. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

For what it's worth, I can only think of a couple of CMs that didn't perk up and respond positively to a little sympathy and humor about the crowds while we were there. :santa: :crowded: For the most part, the DL employees are still the nicest around! :grouphug:

yea, i know, CMs try their best... people complain A LOT... and they yell and scream if a CM doesnt do what they want.

I remember getting yelled at by a mom cuz i didnt give her daughter a popcorn when her daughter told me she dropped her popcorn. I was busy helping my line, and i told her to bring me the box and id be happy to give her a new one. She did she didnt have one...

Then i get people yelling at us for not serving quick enough. theres like 20 ppl in line, its BUSY!!!

IF you want really really nice ppl go to DCA ^_^

(insert teeth grin) I was once crazy enough to go to DL the weekend before Christmas. It wasn't filled to capacity, but enough where I wasn't really able to enjoy myself for a time. I will NEVER go there again on a holiday. NEVER!!!! ;)

We are staying at the DoubleTree (Priceline) for 4 nights so we have 3 day parkhoppers. We were driving into the Mickey and Friends lot around 2:00 this aftertoon (yeah, I know....we just aren't early, open to closing or commando park people) and the sign said "Disneyland Sold Out"..."California Adventure" tickets still available. Luckily since we already had our tickets we were able to get in to Disneyland and yes, it was very, very crowded. We left just before 9:00pm and noticed a very long line of people buying tickets for what we could only assume were for the next day, New Years Eve. We plan to visit the park early since I hear that it will definately reach capacity.....early! Happy New Year!!!!

We were at DL on Wednesday, December 27th. It had rained the night before and in the morning. So, surprisingly, after we bought our tickets, we walked straight through the turnstyle. We pretty much walked right on Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Pooh. DS and DH had about a 20 minute wait on Splash. However, things didn't stay this way. By the time we finished breakfast, the line at Pirates was insane and stayed that way until Fantasmic. I think the longest line we stood in was 40 minutes for the Buzz Lightyear ride in the late afternoon. We had just been to DL for 5 days in March so we weren't feeling the pressure to do it all. We missed the parade and that was disappointing.

On Wednesday, it was COLD! Very cold and at times, pretty windy. But Wednesday was not the worst day I have seen at DL. We were pretty happy Disney people!

Ok, so I finally bought tickets off of Disneyland.com to pick up at Will Call. I did specify that I want to pick them up on Tues and they can be used on Weds since they are for the new promo where we paid the kids price.

So, if we show up a couple hours after the park opens and they fill to capacity they can turn us away?? Or, what happens if DL sells out and you leave for lunch and return, are you out of luck?

well, i think you should be fine.. the park only closes on the weekends like on Fri, Sat, or Sun. It rarely filled up on Mon-Thur. but they will only let you through Disney California Adventure... But a word of warning, even though the park is still not full, parking fills up QUICKLY! I dont have a clue where others will be parking...

Yes, if you leave at lunch and it fills up, you will not be allowed in. We did CA Adventure for a few hours, and by then there was room in DL.

The shortest lines I've ever seen at DL were when we went on Jan. 2nd. We drove down on the 1st, some crowds that evening, and the park was almost empty the next day (plus we got to see Disney's Rose Parade float up close and personal in the park on the 2nd).

I really want to shop in the parks but I don't like visiting the parks when it's crowded. I get the 1st off but it's back to the salt mines for me on Jan. 2nd. Phooey! :sad2:

holy crap, New Years Eve, the hub was completely filled at 7PM... it was madness!
