Sounds like next week is going to be crowded

Keep reading about the opening of Fantasyland next week plus there is some kind of D23 convention going on. We checkin Tuesday. I was kind of hoping it would be a low attendance time, but it's sounding like there might be big crowds with everything else going on. Anyone else concerned/disappointed?

I made my plans to go to WDW 12/7-12/12 before they announced the opening of Fantasyland. I like this time of year, and did not want to change my plans. I just rearranged my itinerary so that I do not visit the MK until after the weekend. The other parks have increased hours, I suspect this is to disperse the crowds a bit.
I think the best thing to do is to go knowing that it may be a bit crowded and be flexible.
I usually love going to the MK my first day, this trip I'll start with DHS.
