Sound machines and airline travel?

Has anyone travelled with those machines that provide white noise for sleeping? My kids all sleep with one on and have a hard time sleeping without it. We've been known to try to find static on the clock radio in the hotel rooms in order to provide some background noise! Does anyone know if they are ok to be packed in the checked baggage? I think we packed one when we went in Feb, but I really can't remember! Has anyone done this recently? Thanks!

We have traveled with the noise maker. It was in our checked luggage. NO problem in the airport.

Did find on our last trip (I forgot to pack it) that the radio tuned between stations works just as well & their is more room in the luggage for treasures
