Oh, I suppose I should. But, the fact is I'm deathly afraid of them.
(And with good reason...)
To explain: My last flu shot was when I was a 12th-grader back in High School. Believe it or not, back then you could line up like unsuspecting cattle in the gymnasium and receive one for free. (Of course, this was a different time- It was an ancient period known as the late 80's and when we weren't busy "taming the West" we were waiting for the Earth to cool...)
But seriously. I lined up with my friends, got my shot with one of those new at the time "shot gun injector thingies" and all was well.
That is, until about 5 minutes later when I was just standing on the gym's wooden floor talking with friends when all of a sudden, (I'm told) I turned totally white and hit the floor like a sack of wet cement.
I awakened, (again, I'm told) a few minutes later looking up at some VERY concerned looking nurses.
"Thank God he's getting his color back !" I recall one of them saying.
Long story short, (too late, Josh !

) I remember them trying to explain the event away by trying to tell me that I was "just afraid of the needle" which caused me to pass out. Which, frankly, was a steaming pile of pixie dust since I was not even thinking about needles and it was five minute after the injection.
Well, whatever the reason was that I hit he floor in the first place was never adequately explained to me.
And since then, I've avoided flu shots.
P.S. I KNOW what to do if your fever soars up to a really high level, but I don't want to be responsible for sharing that info on The Dis.
P.P.S. That doesn't mean you couldn't email me if the mood struck.
