I promise I WILL stop fussing very soon!!:lmao:

I thought I'd solved all my feeding problems - I'm taking powder sachets of milk and cold water sterilising tablets in my case. But I (wrongly!!!) assumed I would be able to get a kettle from room service to boil the water to mix with the formula!!!

Someone on the Resorts thread has recommended I order an electric kettle on amazon and get it sent to the hotel OR pop to walmart and buy one.

Is this what you have done?? Should I worry about shipping something to a hotel?? Will Walmart definitely have them?? Or do you do something else???

Our first 3 nights are at Hard Rock and we didn't plan to leave the Universal complex - but possibly we might have to go shopping???:confused3

thanks for any help!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Are you driving, could you pop into a store on the way from the airport to your hotel? Walmart def. sell stuff like this - they had a huge electrical section when we went last year.

Hey Amy, just noticed you are staying at the Poly for part of you trip. You lucky, lucky person. You will love it. We honeymooned there Aug 2004 - it's awesome.

I am surprised the hotel does not have a kettle as they are usually standard in US hotels.

Kettles are so cheap in USA, with K Mart, Walmart and Walgreens on way to Universal. There is a K Mart and Walmart on Turkey Lake Road near to Universal and several Walgreens around. Do a search on their websites for prices of kettles and the nearest shop and choose the best option for you.

Word of warning Walmart is so great that your family might kill you if you go on the way from airport. I cannot get out of that shop in under 2 hours as it is so great. To be honest it might be an idea to go anyway as you can stock up on drinks and snacks very cheaply as Hard Rock will have high prices.

We tend to go next morning when time difference kicks in as it is 24 hours shop and we go at 5am, shop and then come back to hotel for breakfast. They even have a McDonald at the exit so you could have breakfast there.

Have a great time.

I might have read you're thread completely wrong so please ingnore me if Im not helping...but if you're wanting water to mix with you're formua when my daughter was at the "sterilized water" age we brought nursery water from Walmart (publix sell it too) my health visitor recommended it, it was in at least a 3 litre bottle and really handy as you did not have to do anything to it! So we used it for both mixing formula and my DD drinking water. It was not expensive either, about the same as standard bottled water. Hope this gives you another option!:thumbsup2

If you have room in your case (with all the stuff you are taking for the little one!) then Argos do a travel kettle for £10, that you can change the voltage to 110V. It's what I'm gonna get, as I want to make sure I have something with me - one less thing to worry about.

Sara. :)

Kettles are not standard at all in US hotels... coffee machines are... actually electric kettles are reasonably rare in the US still... most people boil water on the hob if they need to.

I would go for the nursery water over the boiled water.. or buy ready mixed formula. The florida water has a very strange and strong aroma/taste to it!

Hi Amy

If you are moving between sites, I definitely go to walmart and get a cheap kettle.. then you can take it with you!
I wonder if you can get one which would boil in the car (through the lighter) - that might be handy if you are out and about in the car??

Wish I had first hand experience, but was still feeding my DS myself when we took him at 11 weeks! Must say, it wasn't a problem - we had a 'blacked' out 4 x 4, so I just sat in the back, and fed him 'en route' and he was usually OK then for the few hours we would spend in the parks etc..

Hope you have a wonderful time!!

Tracy xx

thank you all for your kind comments :lovestruc - yes we are spending 4 nights at the Poly - so very very excited about that!!:cool1:

I think I will probably go to walmart and then decide between the nursery water (great idea!!) and a kettle when I get there. Also like the idea of going first thing in the morning - as I'm fully expecting DS4 and DS9mths to be awake very early!!;) :lmao:

thanks again!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Amy

We couldn't find an electric kettle in walmart despite looking for ages........ We ended up making do with the coffee pot to heat water :(

I like the nursery water idea or travel kettle (why didn't we think of that!)

thanks Kaylee - I must admit I wsa a bit concerned about waiting until I got there - I think I may have a look at the travel kettles and then perhaps buy some nursery water as well - nothing like covering all options!!:rotfl:

We took a travel kettle when our dd was still at the boiled water stage.
Worked a treat!
