Sorry I've been MIA!!

Good morning, everyone!! I missed you guys!!

I wanted to check in and let you all know how everything is going. Thank you to everyone for checking on us!! Things are going well with SIOLB. . .of course DH & I just spend most of our time holding him and/or looking at him saying, "He's so cute!" Not that we're biased or anything!!

Things with me are going ok. Over the past 5 weeks (2 before he came, and the 3 after) they've been sending me quite a bit of work from my actual job. That's ok, since I get to make up some hours, but it ended up being all I could get done when SIOLB was napping, so no DIS-ing for me!!

I am feeling pretty good. I didn't have any problems with the C-section or the recovery, but my blood pressure isn't cooperating. I've always had really low blood pressure, but right after I had him, it went up. The dr said that post-partum high blood pressure was kind of common, but they can't get it down. So, I get to go to the dr every week to have it checked (gee, it's just like the weekly pregnant visits!!). No worries, though. . .it'll come down. We just have to get it there.

I thought the DIS Aunties might want to see some new pics. These were taken last Fri when he hit the big three-week mark!

Sorry to hear about the high blood pressure- as Nency said keep us posted on it. He is absolutely adorable. We look forward to you having dis time again but can completely understand wanting Dalton time instead.

Hope things are going okay with work and they aren't trying to pile too much on you.

His dr visits have been fine. DH took him for the first out-of-the-hospital one (the 48 hour one). I had my staples removed that day at the same time, so I couldn't go. He weighed 8 lbs, 5 oz (what he weighed when we brought him home). The dr said to bring him back the next Monday (a week from that) to see if he was back to birth weight (8 lbs 8 oz). Well, we went in for him to be weighed, and you know how I am, I was worrying that he wouldn't have gained back to that point. No worries, though. . .my little man was 8 lbs, 15 (yes, FIFTEEN) oz! He does like the formula! All of his screenings have been great, too. We go back on Sept 9th for the one-month check-up.

BTW, Dalton did get his mail yesterday!! THANK YOU!! He is in the process of writing you a thank-you note! We have a family get-together the first weekend that Peyton officially plays (and of course, my BF), so Dalton will be wearing his special Colts attire to help them win!!

Rumor up here is that they will determine today @ practice if Peyton will be playing a few mins. on Thursday. I'll keep you posted... I haven't seen your BF of late..but the kids have been running me crazy so I haven't even had time to see a min. of the games yet.. I did see highlights that didn't look good..but when QB 1 & 2 are out...well, you know...

Thanks for all of the compliments and well wishes!! If you knew my DH, you'd know that SIOLB is just his "mini-me"! Seriously, if I didn't have the C-section scar, you wouldn't know I contributed!!

We had a BP check-up this afternoon. My top number is down to 126, so they were happy about that. The bottom number is still 100, so I got accused of "not behaving"! They gave me a prescription for BP medicine--I take 50 mg twice a day. And I get to go back in a week to have it checked again. Yay. So much fun!! At least the top number is coming down, though.

I have passed along all of your hugs to SIOLB!! Buffy, we should definitely be around in April--we'll have to meet!! Anyone else headed the TN way?? Come on and visit!!

Wow, that is a high BP... I'm thinkin' those meds are gonna make you potty lots along with lowering the BP... so you might want to have a banana or 2...

Glad the top number is coming down! The things we mommies do for our kids!!! (and we wouldn't have it any other way)
