Sorry for the basic question - moving cruise once deposit is paid

I’m not a first timer but struggling to find the appropriate T&Cs in the cruise contract or find this on Google due to all the “noise”.
I booked a placeholder room on a Western Caribbean for August 2021 recently, to give me and the kids something to look forward to (my husband and I separated just before lockdown). I have to pay the deposit today or lose the booking. I have already rebooked the placeholder at the same price once but want to make a decision ideally so I don’t have to keep reminding myself to pay the deposit.

if I pay my deposit today for Aug 2021 and cruising rules or customs arrangements make it difficult for UK residents to come to Florida, will I be able to move the deposit to another (eg European) cruise? I know it’s a long way out but still a little nervous and don’t want to lose the £850 if the situation is not good for us. And also nervous prices will go down and I will be stuck paying over the odds.

Historically, before PIF date, DCL has allowed to move a deposit to a new cruise at the current rate for that new cruise. Of course, the rules of the placeholder always apply, so if the new cruise is out of the 2-years placeholder limit, you will not get the reduced rate on the new cruise. Will the rules change after the current situation is anyone’s guess.
