but is this God's work?

I'm new to the whole praying thing. But, I have been attending church regularly and felt more religious and spiritual because of it. Due to my impending divorce and the fact that my STB ex has left us high and dry w/no financial support, things have been very BAD around here. Each week it was getting worse.

So, three weeks ago, I really opened myself up to God and prayed. The overlying theme was for help and guidance with my financial situation so I could properly care for my children.

Today, I checked my banking account, and instead of a negative balance, the money that I wasn't expecting until my 2/28 pay check was in there today!! :cheer2: :cheer2: I have stock options at work that automatically executed at the end of 2005, but weren't supposed to be processed and deposited unti the end of February. They are a whole month early.

It's enough money to pay ALL of my back bills and live modestly for the next six or so months, when hopefully I'll be divorced, have sold my house and can be living within MY means with the kids in small house or town house somewhere. If the money hadn't arrived until 2/28, and I wasn't able to score money elsewhere (borrowing or begging from friends and family, like I did last month) my cable and gas would have been turned off this month and foreclosure proceedings would have started on my house.

So, as a former non-believer, is this a "sign" of God's work? Or, just a happy coincidence?

Sometimes there is a break in the rain clouds and a ray of light shines through.

Whether it was divine intervention or a stroke of good luck, I'm glad the money came before expected and things will be easier to bear as far as finances go. :grouphug:

DLM,

So happy for you! We'll never KNOW this side of eternity, will we? But, yes, I believe that the one who promised "your heavenly Father knows that you need . . ." is at work. We walk by faith and not by sight, but it's an amazing journey.

ITA We serve an amazing God! I believe that was God at work showing Himself to you, building your faith. Does that mean that we always get what we want when we pray, no, but the Bible does say that God supplies all our needs. Your story has given me a lift today!

i dotn know but either way its good for you and your family
im inclined to say its the praying

Prayer is a very strong thing, I think many people pray without actually believing what they are praying about can happen. This is just another example of give it to God and he'll take care of it for ya.

What a relief! Good for you! Yes, I believe prayer works.

Oh yes, I do believe in the power of prayer. God has proven to me too many times that he does listen and does answer prayers. You just have to be patient and wait.

Praise God! He answers our prayers in many ways! He not only gave you the money but the peace you can and will overcome! :cool1:

:thumbsup2 God is no sugar-daddy, but he sure does know our needs and our desperation. Who can say why some prayer get answered and some seemingly don't? :confused3 As for whether this was an answer to prayer or not, your heart tells you the truth. :grouphug:

To be honest, I think it´s what ever you want it to be. Work of God or just a coincident...

I think God's faith may have helped you.
I started going to a new church and have found it very rewarding.
Last week my DD was sick. I prayed, the whole church had her in their prayers all week. She's better now, but the comfort from praying was very soothing.

imho, there is no such thing as coincidence. I am happy for you. I am thankful that you shared your blessing with us. Your blessing is hope for all who need.

Lately, I've been praying for guidence and relief of some tension and fear. EVERYTIME I ask for help, He comes to my aid. I feel the dark feelings leave me.

He is a wonderous God!!

This is what I believe also.

If you draw nearer to God than He draws nearer to you. I think this is one example of it. Many would say happy coincidence but I believe in prayer and the power it has to change things (& us). You turned your needs over to God and He provided at the right moment. Don't let your journey end here, God is powerful and will see you through in big and little things. He is an amazing God!!

Best wishes as you go through a divorce and get back on your feet.

Yes, I believe in the power of prayer. About 3 years ago I started praying & meditating. It really helps me to feel better & less stressed.

I think Affirmations have changed my life. Its saying nice things about yourself instead of negative things. Silvia Brown has some good ones.

"I'm a blessed child of God. I am well. I am happy. Great abundance is on its way because, as God's child, I am empowered to create miracles"

I read a saying someplace: A coincidence is when God works a miracle and chooses to remain anonymous :goodvibes

If you trust God to privde for you, then He will :goodvibes
