Sorry but another ME question...

I know these Magic Express topics get bombarded, but I haven't seen an answer to this question. Sorry.

I recieved our ME packet and there are only two long yellow luggage tag strips along with the booklet. Are these luggage tags meant to be cut in half so that DH and I may each take 2 check-in bags or are we limited to only one bag apiece?

Each long strip is ONE tag. Please don't cut it!

Because most airlines have effectively limited passengers to one checked bag apiece, Disney instituted the cost-cutting (and green) measure of sending out only one DME luggage tag per guest.

BUT THEY'LL BE HAPPY TO SEND YOU AS MANY AS YOU NEED.

Just call DME directly at 866-599-0951 and they'll send as many extras as you request. DME has no limits on the amount of luggage they will handle for you. If you check 10 bags with your airline just for yourself (and pay the airline a bazillion dollars for the privilege), DME will transfer all 10 of those bags for free ... whatever you check with the airline, DME will handle, no exceptions.

If you can't get the tags in time, don't worry, you can use ME even without the yellow tags. At the desk, give them a description of your bags and the claim tickets and you're all set.

I am a little leary to go to the ME counter and describe our luggage. We have the same black suitcases as over 90% of US travelers. The baggage claim carousels are a NIGHTMARE for us. I touch more people's luggage than the baggage handlers. And I have tried the putting stickers on the case or tying string to help identfy our suitcases, but to me they all look the same.

Maybe Santa could bring me some fancy-dancy one of a kind luggage.

Just (very securely) tie a brightly colored ribbon to each handle.

Let's start a fad!
Make up 3x5 or 4x6 index cards each the same color and with the same 3 digit number (any) in big print and your name and work/relatives address and work/cell phone number in little print. Plaster two on the sides of each piece of baggage.

Good job in making that call.

I understand your concern about your look-alike luggage. But also keep in mind that part of the process is that you give them your baggage claim ticket numbers, and the CM who gets the luggage for you will check those numbers to make sure the bags are actually yours.
