I'm going nuts looking at all the stroller options online. I have 2 kids and am planning to take our cheapo umbrella to WDW but was planning to buy another. I want an umbrella that doesn't weigh much and reclines and has storage and doesn't cost an arm and a leg and will hold a 47 pound kid(who will weigh more by then). Not asking for much, am I. I just can't find any that will hold that much weight. Does anyone have experience using one for a bigger kid than the manufacturer recommends? I like the way the inglesina swift looks but I believe it said either 40 or 45 lbs max. I also looked at the sit and stand types but they looked heavy and bulky. I'm getting tempted to just use the rental ones. Do they recline?

The maclaren strollers hold up to 55 lbs. and have gotten really good reviews. They are a bit expensive though. You can get a Maclaren Volo (basic) for a little under $100. I just bought a Maclaren Triumph (step up/it reclines) for $119 at albeebaby.com. I've been researching this for days and that was the best bet I could find for a bigger kid. I know the strollers at the parks don't recline, and they look uncomfortable (although I rode in the park strollers as a kid and I was fine).

Thanks for your response. On ebay, the sellers were saying the Triumph only holds up to 40 pounds so I had already written that one off. After your response, I went to their website and you were right. I think that one will be a great choice if I can talk DH into spending that amount. We do go to the zoo quite often, so I'll promote that as an additional reason we need it.

Many Inglesinas have the same structure/manufacturing as Maclarens. They will hold up to 55 lbs.

I found so many conflicting weight limits for all the stollers I've looked at. I did go to both the inglesina and maclaren websites to confirm. Inglesina listed theirs at 45 pounds and Maclaren listed theirs at 55. I'm hoping the websites would have the correct weight limit.
