Sorry, another Disney Visa Rewards question...

I have been saving Disney Rewards points and have now redeemed them for a rewards card to use on our vacation in a few weeks. I have been told by some that you can't use it at all of the Disney restaurants and by others that you can use it anywhere in the parks.

My question is can you charge your table service meal to your room and then pay on your room charges with your rewards card when you leave? I would rather just pay at the restaurant, but could this be a way to get around it?

Yes, you can apply Disney Visa Rewards to your room charges. We were even able to apply the Rewards to our room when we checked IN, thereby using it as a debit. We also had our CC on file so when the Rewards were gone, the rest of the charges went to our CC.

I'm not sure about ALL WDW restaurants, but we used ours to buy our dining plan at the desk at BWV, and used the rest for tips at several restaurants. This is sort of like your question.

Reward card points CANNOT be used at all restaurants! Call first. There are only a few that will accept the card. BTW Circue De solia *Sp?) will accept your reward card IF you buy your ticket at the Disney, but not by phone.

Is this a fairly new change? I know we have used our rewards card at several of the little places that aren't listed. Pecos Bill's is one that I can think of right off hand and the new place with chicken nuggets where the fries cart used to be. It looks like the MK list is lacking in places.

We have also used it at Play & Dine and other places in AK. Window where cinnamon rolls were sold.

Just decided to look at shopping at Downtown Disney and only 4 stores are listed. Unless this was updated within the past 3 weeks there are several more stores that we could use the card. In fact I was suprised when the lego store even took it! DS6 was happy since I let him pick out several new legos!

I would ask everywhere. The only places I have found that it can't be used is places not owned by disney. Of course Epcot seems to have more places that you can use it though that I thought disney didn't run (Teppen Edo).

This is a new update to the Disney Rewards website. It wasn't there last week. I have a saved .pdf file from earlier this fall and it lists more locations than the website does.

I think that this is a case of Disney being Disney and reserving the right to change or limit an offer based on their needs.

Unless it has changed and it might have, you can use it anywhere in the parks that accept Credit Cards. In DTD you can use at DISNEY stores but not at NON-Disney stores.
