Today was first of 3 days for Florida passholders to ride Sorin'. All I can say is "wow", this ride is intense. It came as close as you can to the actual sensation of flying. I had to close my eyes a few times because it was more than I could handle. I had thought I would be in line for over a hour, but we got on the ride in less than 5 mins and could not believe it was almost empty. Epcot today had just about as few people I have ever seen, even with the Flower and Garden show starting today also. The opening day Sorin' pin went on sale also, and people were snaping them up quick, I even had to show my drivers license before I could buy it. So to all the Epcot fans, make your plans to get your "fastpass" as soon as you enter the park and enjoy a "Sorin'" ride you will not forget.

will non-passholders be able to get on the ride?

i am going to disney next week and really want to go on soarin!

I can't wait to catch this ride when I go in May. I hope it's a little more reliable than Test Track! Soarin' looks great, do you think it is too much for my DS4? (he is pretty adventurous, he likes Test Track)

Passholder preview is today, tomorrow, & Sunday. Next week is a question mark. They may be doing soft openings, they may not. You'll just have to ask someone once you arrive.

As for kids... how tall is your son? The height requirement is 40in. The seats feel very open and if he doesn't like heights he probably won't like it. I really wouldn't compare TT and Soarin'. They're very different rides.

As long not afraid of heights, should be ok. Official opening to public is May 5th.

I went on today too. I was amazed! It really exceeded my expectations, and being a former Californian, it made me a little homesick!

My DD4 went on and LOVED it up until the ride was over. They lower you back to floor level in complete darkness, and she didn't like that so much. She said she wants to go on again though, so it wasn't too scary for her!

We are going at the end of May, so hopefully it will have been up and running for a week or two by then. I don't think my DS4 is afraid of heights, but that is worth investigating. He is plenty tall enough, he is pushing 48 inches, he did'nt get the tall gene from me that's for sure! Perhaps I'll send my DH or me ahead to check it out. Thanks for everyones input!!

Really good ride. For me it was not that intense. However, the special effects I thought made the ride and we done excellent! They give you the smells you fly over (like an orange grove or a pine forest along a river) and the wind and a few others I will not mention so as to not give it away.

I think this ride will be much more popular than mission space which was too intense for many people. This ride had for me at least just the right balance of intensity but not over the top.

Everything about the ride including and perhaps especially the walk up to the ride was done with Disney excellence.

Today they were checking to make sure you had a seasonal or annual pass. Unless they do a soft opening next week, you probably won't be able to ride it when you're here.

I rode it twice today with not much of a line at all. Since I went alone, I got put in the front row both times. :teeth:

It's a cool ride. I'll hit it tomorrow and Sunday as well.

Thanks for the info about Soarin. We will be arriving Sunday morning. Checking into AKL then over to Epcot to try Soarin. Can't wait!! We were just at WDW last month but are heading back for the preview.

When I was over there today, there wasn't much of a line at all. I'm heading over tomorrow and Sunday as well. Just a reminder.....MAKE SURE everyone in your party has their season or annual pass in hand. You have to show it before they'll let you into the building.

Where are they selling the Soarin AP pins?

At the pin station across from the large fountain in the center plaza. It will be a "keeper" you won't trade away.

Don't forget also, that this is also DVC preview weekend. We will be going on Sunday after we arrive.
