Sore throat.... with day 2 update

I do hope you all are ok for your holidays!

Swine Flu does definitely hit "all at once" so I am sure "just a sore throat" will be fine.

My son got it last week. He is a fit, healthy 15 yr old. Got up Sunday morning to do his paper round - no problems. By lunch time he said he didnt feel well.

By 2pm he was so ill in bed, temperature 38.4, really bad sore throat, really hacking cough, the bed was soaked with sweat and he was like that for 2 days, couldnt move as terrible headache. I was shocked, as he really was right as rain first thing.

By Weds morning, he woke up - absolutely no symptons at all. All back to normal!

The strangest illness I'd seen!!

Good luck to all the teachers (and everyone who works in a school!) - this time next year I will be with you...!! I am an Assessment Data Manager in a Secondary School and am flying off to The World next July!!

I'm a secondary Drama and English teacher and we break up tomorrow. I had some kind of flu two weeks ago so I'm hoping that will be it for me! We fly out on August 11th for our wedding, so definitely don't need anyone in the family getting ill.

i go back as 2nd in dept in a new school (full of swine flu)
my trip isnt til next aug, so we have tie....lol

Ha Ha! what a coincidence!!! I teach food too, but mainly textiles and product design. Wish I was going back as 2nd in dept,,, I've only just completed my NQT year, so it will be a while for me yet Still soo glad my NQT has finished, so I will be well and truly celebrating when we get to the world
I'm hoping for next August too,,, been collecting clubcard points like mad lately I'm hoping for some so that I will have enough to pay for the trip

surprising as it it is there are other mild bugs going round at the moment, which show similar symptoms to the dreaded pig stuff.but if you get the pig one you will know you have got it,a runny nose/sore throat is usually just that
Me i am one of the ones who has to watch myself as i have a suppressed immune system touch wood no symptoms of pig flu but have had a sore throat for over a year now i just put up with it
