You can really tell who the "old timers" are on this thread.
I'm a proud "Old Timer" who dosen't like the change to the big out of place Hat in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. I want the original look.

I remember before and after the hat; it doesn't particularly bother me about the change, but I did prefer the view without the hat.

I would like to see the hat go. I like the water tower with mickey ears better as a HS icon.

Since HS is my least favorite park, I really could care less. I'm at the point where I could skip it on a visit. I'd rather spend more time at the other three. If it wasn't for Star Tours being updated just before our last trip, I doubt DH and I would have gone to HS at all.

If they are updating/overhauling HS there is A LOT of room for improvement. For example, the Movie Ride is fine as a concept but it hasn't changed (as far as I know) since the ride opened. Either update the script or scrap it and start over. And I think the same can be said for most of the attractions at the park.

I associate Hollywoody Studios with the hat, but that's probably because I was only 9 or 10 when it went up, so I kind of grew up with it there...for the part I remember the most of anyway.

I don't remember a time without the hat there. But I can definitely understand why people who always knew the Chinese Theatre as the backdrop might want that back as well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see! We'll always have pictures.
