Have any of my favorite disney brides (that's you guys :goodvibes ) had a sorbet course during your dinner? How did it go over? Was it worth it?

Or if you're planning on one, how did you decide what flavor/thing to put it in?

The sorbet course is one of the main reasons we're leaning toward the Boardwalk Ballroom for our reception, instead of ADH which is buffet only.

Thanks in advance! :)

hello,

i had one and i have to say it was the course i wanted most also. i just think it lends such a nice touch to the reception. ok with that said. i wanted lemon/vanilla but it was not available so i had reasberry champagne and wow it was so yummy and refreshing. i unfortunalty did not do it in the glass slipper it was just too much money i did have it though in the martini glass which i thought was so cute. the fruit with it is so delice. ok so here is the pick. i think it is worth iti had many guests comment on it!!

We are planning on having one. I def think it will be worth it. We are going to have ours in an ice sculpture.

Hiya,

How much are the ice sculptures costing you? I've asked my WP but she's not got back to me yet. Do they come in different designs? I've only got 15 people at my meal and have a $3000 minimum so we are trying to think of ways to increase the cost.

Thanks

We had the raspberry champagne and our guests loved it! I wish we had pictures of their reactions when the lights went down and the waiters brought the trays out full of the slippers all lit. I am definitely glad we splurged to have them. Even my DH (who was against them) said it was a good decision.

The only negative was that they pre-scoop them and put them back in the freezer so they came out really hard still. Most of our guests were too impatient and ate them with a fork. I took mine out of the slipper and ate it on my bread plate because I was worried about flinging something red at my dress.

The best man thought they were fun.

Good luck deciding!

We are having the ones in the slipper. They are $17 pp. I know that they have ones shaped like mickey's head and a flower. I'm not sure what other ones are available.

We didn't know what kind to have either until our PS they brought out the raspberry champagne one and we loved it, so we picked it!

Also just because you have a buffet doesn't mean you can't get them. We are having a buffet. They are going to be served between the pre-reception and the reception - right before dinner is served.
Our planner didn't have any problem with it at all.

Raspberry champagne is definitely the way to go. Our flower girls are only having raspberry though. We wanted the slipper so this is one thing we splurged on (this and the soft drinks, but that's another story...)

We might have to play this game to meet the minimum as well!

I do love the presentation though, it's someting different that people will remember.

So does anyone know what other flavours are available in additional to the obviously much-loved Raspberry Champagne? :lmao: Sounds yummy to me, but I know that Si doesn't like certain fruity flavours and unfortunately this is one of them!

I really want to do the sorbet course in the ice sculpture too. I just wish it wasn't so expensive...:guilty:

I think most of the flavors are fruity... um , it's sorbet lol. I know they can do just plain champagne, raspberry, mango, blood orange, strawberry and lemon. There are probably more.

Can you have these if you are having a buffet?? We have ariels booked??

They said they can do any flavor, including green tea and tequila. We did lemon champagne because our wedding was all in blue and white and I didn't like the look of the pink sorbet with the blue light. The company that does the molds is like ice magic or something like that and you can see all their desgins on their website. This was the one thing I refused to not have. They were $17 per person and worth every penny....even my dad loved them and everyone is going to remember it. Our planner dimmed the lights and we had them play the Main Street Electrical Parade music. The video of it is even better than the pictures because the flash kind of lights up the room, which was pretty dark. Our sorbet was perfect though, not hard at all

Thak you guys so much for all of the advice and pictures! I think this is the one thing that I definitely have to have.. Time to add some more $$ to the budget

We are having our reception at the ADH and we are still doing the sorbet course in the slipper. So ask your planner they are willing to do almost anything if you can pay for it. Good Luck!

can you get something other than the slipper that costs less? I love the idea of the personalized ice sculpture!!

There are other ice sculptures available but they are the same price pretty much. There are other more cost effective options for serving the sorbet like in a martini glass, a glass rose, etc. Your planner should have the pricing of all the different options.

Hi cutie bug at what point during your buffet dinner are you serving the sorbet? Also how many guests are you having? we were told they wouldn't be able to serve sorbet with more than 50 guests... Thanks
