Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Our hearts are breaking for you. I cannot even begin to imagine all that you are dealing with.

Amanda is a hero who is now in heaven with her daughter Emma, and David, Mike and Lynda are heroes who remain behind to help Sophie.

God bless you and grant you extra heaping helpings of grace and mercy. Peace in the hard times, rest in the quiet times and strength for all the times in between.

Our check goes to the fund in the morning. Thanks for posting the address.

God Bless and Greetings to all or DIS Family,

I was watching the news and reading the posts right before I wrote this and saw the line of people in FL that needed water and my heart went out to them. They are all in our prayers.

This brought tears to my eyes because you, too, are in our thoughts and prayers. This tragedy reminds me every day how blessed we are to be safe and healthy, regardless of the weather.

May God continue to keep you in his loving arms and grant you continued strength to endure this on-going tragedy.

Please give David a big, long, hug from us all ... I imagine he can use one after all he has had to go thru.

EmmasGrammy-I have not been on the boards for a long time and have just read your heartbreaking story this morning. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family for the healing you all (especially Sophie) will need.

I had truly enjoyed reading your travel plans as they went along and then reading about the wonderful trip you enjoyed with your husband and Emma. My favorite line from your trip report was, "Went back to the cabin to pick up my "dates" and we danced like fools at the sail away celebration." I hope that's a precious image you can find comfort in when things may seem too hard to bear.

The Lord will guide you all. Prayers continue for all, and for continued strength for the long road ahead. Sophie and all of her family are never far from my mind. This little girl has had such a huge impact on me. I especially have a special place in my heart for you because my family was impacted by the Station Fire in Rhode Island. I understand some of what you are experiencing. I know that the road ahead is a long one. And I understand the strength that you can find in the compasion of all who are touched by you and praying for you.

If you will allow me the liberty to share a story with you...

I had just written a post on Monday in follow up to Mike's post. You truly are on my mind continually, and I check for Sophie's condition daily. I had planned to stay home that day, but after thinking about life and it's uncertaintees, I decided instead to take my niece out to lunch and to enjoy a bit of local tourism. While we were on the road, we were struck by a car who's driver performed a very thoughtless tactic. As we collided, I prayed to God; he screamed and yelled. We pulled off the road and into a lot and he proceeded to scream and throw his arms around and carry on. I simply looked at him and said "excuse me sir, but I will not yell and swing my arms around and behave like you." "Your two children, you, my passenger, and I are not hurt; and our cars look drivable." "Cars are replacable, but people aren't." He calmed down. But he kept checking on his car (I would have had my arms around my kids; but I guess people are different). He started on again about his 11-year old car, and I just looked at him and said "Sir, this week I heard about a gentleman who lost his wife and daughter due to a fire in their home, and his infant daughter is in the hospital struggling to survive." "This accident means nothing to me." "Your kids are fine, and that is the big picture." He looked down at the ground and shook his head, then he looked up at me and said that he was sorry. His entire attitude changed after that. On the way home, my niece asked me how I could have remained so composed and not cared about my car. I told her your story. She understood. -- Sophie and her family have helped to keep me focussed; and have helped a silly man to put his priorities into perspective. -- My niece now prayes for you, and I am hoping the man who hit my car is as well.

:D It is truly amazing, little Sophie is like a little angel, as I had said earlier it gave me pause to think about her when my DH was being grouchy and then yesterday a friend was going on and on complaining and I just said to myself "God forgive you for being so whiny when someone so precious is going through something so horrific and she did not even do anything". Everytime now I hear something that is petty, whiny, grouchy or anything that is fixable I just think about Sophie and it puts it all in perspective. I bet her family would trade places with a lot of people who just have problems that are not lifeshattering. God bless you Sophie and family. I think about you every morning and every night.:wave2:

When I first read this heart wrenching story, I did nothing but sit and cry, then as I held my daughter close I prayed for the strenghth to be a better mother, to have more patience so I wouldn't yell over small things, and the wisdom to take each and every day for what it is, a blessing. Then I called my mom in FL, just because... I told the story of the Ritter family at work, and one of my co workers took the story with her to church...

I just wish I could do more. I remembered so much of what is taken forgranted every day that I feel as though I need to repay someone...

My heart and prayers to you, Lynda, Mike, David, and especially little Sophie...

Mike, Lynda, David and family,
Thoughts, prayers and an extended hand of help is offered by so many to each of you. Prayers are being said by so many for the healing of Sophie and we know those prayers will be answered.
God's blessings always
Shirley and Norm

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May your trust in God continue to guide you through this very difficult time.

I was thinking of your family AGAIN and I just wanted to say God bless you!

We hope you all know how many of us think of you and pray for you often!

Through these boards, my family has learned so much! First, Nathan Page and his family with their incredible love and faith and now Sophie! Through tragedy comes the most amazing stories of love! Wow!

Keep praying everyone! We know the power of prayers!

Bumping Sophie back to page one.
