SOOOOO excited!!!!

During out trip to the world in 2007 DH and I ended up at the bus stops for AKL. I don't remember why, but anyways, we fell in love with the feel of the resort from just that sneak peak. We said we always wanted to stay there.

We didn't stay there last time we went (2010) because we didn't want to spend that much on a resort. Well this year we are going again, and thanks in part to a deal on Southwest airfair (3 tickets for just about free), we decided to do a deluxe resort. We checked AKL and it was more then we wanted to spend by $1K. So we booked Wilderness Lodge.

Well last night on a whim, we checked the price for AKL and it was the exact same down to the penny as WL.....so this morning we officially changed our ressie to ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE!!!! OMG I am SOOOOOO excited!!!! Our DD thinks we are going to WL so we are going to keep it a secret and surprise her with AKL. She is going to go nuts with the animals!!!!

Congrats!! You will LOVE AKL!! We finally got to stay there for our last trip and just loved it! AKL makes you feel like you never have to leave a park. Being able to come "home" at night and step onto your balcony and watch the animals is just magic. Enjoy!!

Congrats on staying at AKL. We have visited there a number of times but haven't had the pleasure of a stay yet, but it's definetly in our future. Wilderness Lodge would have been great also though. Hope you enjoy your stay!

I know what you mean about AKL = I have stayed at almost all of the resorts over the years and AKL is still my all-time fav. There is something about the lobby, the music, the animals, the CMs.
If I lived within driving distance, I would be spending my weekends there!

OP - I did the same as you... WL and AKL were on my "short" list...

I kept pricing WL visits... then thought I had a pin and very disappointed when I read the "fine print" and it expired in March....

I kept reading on dis... and finally heard about the Spring Special. When I called to book WL... the CM found a Savannah view Villa that was CHEAPER! than WL !

That day felt like Christmas all over again...and I told the CM that.... !

I'll be there in 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days and I totally feel your excitement! I've never stepped foot at AKL before !
