Soooo UPSET Wonder 12/30

Stacy, glad to hear things went fairly okay, and you had a good time. Sorry we didn't make it. (did you get my pm with the disaster story?) It was good to hear about the cruise, and NYE. That I really missed seeing. We are rebooked for June, so should be nice. Just isn't a holiday, is all.

Funny thing about the water temp in the bathroom. I think I know why that is. On our last cruise my brother in law stayed in that room(no joke in that). His last name is spelled Lueck which is pronounced as luke. Thus the explaination of "luke" warm water. He no doubt has done something to the pipes!!! LoL. I would think that since our 10/16/04 cruise the maintenance staff would have fixed his vandalism. I can't wait to tell him about your experience. In any event, glad you had a great trip and now you have one more story to remember your vacation by. Remember, truth IS stranger than fiction. :earseek:

That was really cute....

Thanks for the story and would yell at him a little for me..??..

it seems to me that first time cruisers with a guarantee (not an assigned cabin) get stuck with these verandahs! Grrrr!

As do those in wheelchairs, most of whom, if they got an accessible stateroom for medical reasons, cannot even peek over the top of the rail.....

Bummer.

I followed this thread but decided not to post after my first contribution since I preferred not to incur the wrath of some posters.

However, I just wanted to follow up now that we are back. Because I was so determined to try everything to get a plexi balcony, my family was first in line at the port. I asked about availability and the only cabin we could move to was a Cat 3. We decided to pay for the upgrade (up from a 6) and I am so very very happy that we did.

The cabin was simply wonderful and the double wide balcony with nice clear plexi was my daughter's window to dolphin and flying fish sightings, all the ports and the watercraft activity there and ship's lights twinkling in the distance some nights. She often stood inside the cabin at the slidiing door looking out at "the great big sea to see what she could see" if my husband and I could not accompany her outside.

My husband and I spent hours outside in the deck chairs reading while she had her daily naps and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

To some folks who do not spend much time in the room, or have older kids, or kids not interested in looking out, the specifics of the balcony might be unimportant, but for us it was a real treat to have this one.

Happiness and smooth sailing to all.

I am very happy you were able to upgrade. I LOVED watching the dolphins at the port as we were sailing away. And at least I know for sure that now for our 7 night cruise on the magic in jan "06" we will have the plexiglass veranda.
