Background-DS8 really wanted Nike shox last year when school started.I found out how much they cost and he did not get them. When he made out his list for Santa they were on there second(right after new bike).Santa brought them and he has taken good care of them-only wearing them to school and when we go out.I dicovered this past weekend that they are too small and bought him new shoes.

Yesterday he went to his teacher and asked her what size shoe her seven year old son wears. He did not tell her why he was asking.Last night he cleaned the shoes and asked me if he could give them to someone who needed them.I said yes but he wouldn't tell me who he had in mind. This morning he took the shoes to his teacher and asked her to give them to her son.Even though her son says few words(he is autistic)he would touch my son's shoes every morning and smile before school so he knew he liked them.He told her he hopes that Blake smiles every morning when he puts them on. :)

You're doing a good job with that boy, mom! What a great kid!

Oh goodness. :goodvibes What a wonderful story, what a wonderful boy you have there. Almost gives me a lump in my throat; well, it does. :) And I am sure Blake will indeed smile every morning, as will his mom, your son, and you too.

You should be so proud of your son. That should really make your day. Maybe he should get a new pair since he took such good care of them. I'm sure his teacher must have had tears in her eyes when he gave the shoes to her son.

What a sweet sweet kid! Good going Mom! :thumbsup2

What a sweet and caring young man!!! You should be very proud of him!!!

aahhh :goodvibes What a sweet cchild you have, I'm sure you are very proud of him :goodvibes

What a wonderful, wonderful story.

Shoes were extremely important to my middle son for four or five years, and he often asked for shoes for his birthday or Christmas. We got really good at finding things like Shox and Jordans on special. Lots of times they are marked down significantly when the next model comes out. I would keep an eye out for a deal b/c that little boy deserves another pair!

This story is perfect for the Chicken Soup for the Soul post above. Write it Mom, then use the $200 to buy him a new pair of Shox.
